Convention Tag Question

If lightening struck and I happened to draw an Elk convention tag and a LE Draw tag for elk, I could only keep one tag. If this happened, and I chose the convention tag, would I be stuck paying the RN LE tag fee twice (but only receiving one tag)?

I can't find it in print anywhere, but I can't think thats what would happen, you would just refuse/taken out of, the LE draw tag. I think you would just be out your 10$ app fee for the Limited drawing.

I turned my regular drawn turkey tag in last year.

They kept the fee of the tag but I got to retain my points.

So I am guessing that when you draw both! regular draw LE Elk and a Convention elk tag you would still pay the fee on both but return and keep your points on the regular LE elk tag.

I am not sure of the date you can change or opt out of the regular Utah draw...but it might have a date after Feb. 11 and you could do your thing!...change to elk point code!

Thanks Rob, that is what I figured they would do! Since I have a fair chance at a Regular draw tag this year, I think I will not apply for the convention elk tags. I hate to pay $795 just to give a tag back!

Now that I can't apply for LE elk in Utah for another 5 yrs I would love to be in the predicament you inquired on.

To me it would be worth the cost of two tags to hunt an expo tag and keep my bonus points for the draw next year!

But hey, maybe I'll get lucky and draw an expo tag and hunt two years in a row. It has happened
