With all the hype of Utahs hard winter. Here is a picture that helps tell the tale. Not only have deep snows pushed the deer down but these elk have taken refuge on te outskirts of Hyrum Utah. Notice the school buses in the background.

At least close to town they are getting something to eat.
looks like pretty deep snow there.

That's funny, those first 2 pics are about 100 yards from my house, we normally get a bachelor herd hanging around in the winter, really doesn't matter if it is a hard winter or not they'll be there - I think they like the easy pickens at the dairy.

2 years ago there was a herd of 7 raghorns in my backyard 2 days before chrismas, the next morning they were there again. I was so excited to wake the kids up on christmas morning and show them that Santa had crashed, but the elk must have been on to me, they never came back.......:(
