Just wanted to let you know that MossBack's new elk hunting DVD is now available in our Online Store for those who are interested.
I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but from what I've been told it's really good. HUGE bulls!

I also enjoyed the DVD. And as always, Monster bulls going down! Lots of good velvet footage, and great kill shots!

I bet it has some big critters one it.

How about the archery bulls? They are huge. That Az bull is awesome. And the parade of velvet bulls with a couple of them over 400? Nice!

Yep very good. Worth the watch.

I gotta get this one too!

I have like 8-9 of Mossback bull vcr/DVD's for many years back.

No more Bulls Gone Wild?

I have seen a Mossback Muley video a couple years ago. It was OK.

For those of you who have watched the last few Primos Truth series on Elk, how do you think this Mossback video compares?

Thanks!

I don't think it compares with #2 in the world and 8 other bulls over 400. Tons of giant elk live footage, velvet and hard horned. Lots of kills on some of the biggest bulls EVER taken.

IMO the primos videos are FAR superior. In fact I just did order The Truth 11 today. The one mossback video I have kind of turned me off in a way.

Don't know how you can compare apples to oranges. They are different in there own rights. I have heard that some of primos footage, elk, comes from a high fence. I don't know if this is true, but that would be the biggest turn off of all. They definetly have some great footage but if anyone can verify if they use footage from a high fence elk ranch in colorado I would appreciate it. IMO, that would be a shame.

Who your source? That will help you know if they really know anything,or just talking to hear the wind goin in and out. I hope it isn't JimmyCrackcorn down at the Shop-N-Go because he gets a brain freeze sometimes from too many icee's.

You can not go wrong with any of Mossback,

Primos or the

McClendon DVD's on elk hunting/hunts.

About $50-$60 for a whole year of entertainment.

I watched one of these, can't rememer which volume - I think 2, but it had to be one of the worst videos I ever seen. Sure they had a lot of great bulls, but the videography was terrible. A lot of footage of dead bulls - I don't know about you but I watch for the hunt more so than the quality of the animal. I mean, I would rather watch a raghorn get whacked at close range with superior video work and a good clean kill, than to just admire a 400 inch bull,,,, only after the camera swung to and fro, with poor lighting, and the rich guy who buys all these elk shoots two or three times, then they get to the bull and talk of how long this is and how wide that is. Sorry if I upset anyone, but this is just my opinion. The best videos overall, again IMO, are Primos and the Chappel Brothers videos, other than that I either haven't seen or it, or would prefer not to.

Primos are the standard when it comes to video editing, kill shots and overall entertainment value. For big bulls, Chappel, Mossback, McClendon, are the best.

My Mrs order Legends yesterday over the phone with Brian.

It will be a great B-Day present for me next week!

Uhhh, those bulls are ridiculously HUGE. I like the videos from McClendons and Chappel, but I think I'm gonna have to get this one.

Nice bulls, but the video sucks. It is easy to understand why. When you are only filming paying clients it's hard to tell them not to shoot becuase they can't see the shot.

What does that even mean?

Nunya?I think that what rsearcy is saying is that there are a lot of missed shots, or ?re-created shots? in the Mossback movies. Just for comparison- take a look at the Primos Truth 11. They have 17 hunts (some from past seasons) and only the very last one misses the impact shot and Jimmy Primos jokingly chews the cameraman?s ass for not telling him to wait. They don't shoot until the cameraman and the hunter are clear that the shot will make film. They can accomplish better video because they are all on the same page. Mossback on the other hand has paying clients that are harder to control and may or may not listen when you tell them to hold off killing the bull of a lifetime just so you can fiddle with your focus.

Personally I can understand some shaky or out of focus footage- that's hunting. But the re-created, fade to black B.S stunts that Mossback puts out is condescending and belittles hunters intelligence. Just say you didn't get the shot and move on to the tape measure scenes.

I see. In their defense there is usually one guide who is also a camera man with a client. He is filming and trying to get his hunter on the bull. Also there are many different guides some are better than others at running a camera and none are profesional camera men. I think its pretty good work to get a gaint bull killed and also get it on film. Their main goal is get the client an animal not get the video. Those other guys main goal is get the video. You don't let a 400inch bull walk because you cant get a kill shot, or the camera wont focus. If it comes to spooking a bull or getting film the camera isn't even coming on.
You can have your opinion thats fine. I don't watch much tv so I personally would not waste my time watching primos dudes hunting anything. Thats my opinion.

+1

I like primos.. I like their style as well... But they care more about the kill shots then anything.. they are the hunters.. MossBack is guiding AND filming.. Filming is "second".. period. Two different style.. I like them both. I don't think I have ever seen another video (besides the new mossback video)with two monsters over 400 walking together in a group of bulls. I certainly have never seen that on a primos video.
