I am guessing that this only shows first choice? I was one of the 7 applicants that applied with 15 points. I was successful but drew my second choice so I guess that won't show?

And the dude that drew the most coveted NR tag in the state drew with no points!!!! How is that for odds!!!

Yeah, no kidding...0 points for the 161 early tag...dang!

No matter what choice you had with 15 points, it shows up in that table that someone with 15 points drew whatever unit you drew...all the numbers add up to the total number of NR tags issued.

So I guess that I am the one successful under Ely early and also one of the five unsuccessful under 161 early as that was my first choice. Seems odd that I would be on there twice. Maybe I am not one of the 5 unsuccessful under 161 early and am only listed under my draw area? Seems like these odds could be a little off because of choices, especially if a lot of succesful applicants drew a choice that was not their first.

When calculating the odds, if you drew your second through fifth choice, NDOW treats is as you drew your first choice. They don't list you under successful and then unsuccessful for your first choice. Hope this helps. Best of luck to all in the draws! With 15 points, it looks like I'll have odds in the 1 in 4 range.

LAST EDITED ON Feb-21-08 AT 03:06AM (MST)[p]There are alot of the lower point pool applicants that draw out.

Desert Ram is another one that lower point pool always seem to draw and not the max pool applicants.

I have been drawing my buck tag every other year...I hope it holds true this year as I am back in the 1 pt pool...

I try to overlap with my elk application unit (s) as I have gotten to know the elk patterns while chasing big muleys.

After drawing an Idaho '06 California Bighorn tag, I thought I had all the draw luck on my side. After looking at these odds, I know why I ended up tagless last year! Are these 0 point folks not applying for points? There sure is a bunch of 'em.
