Officer Slain

A Deputy Sheriff for Garfield County, Utah was slain last evening in the line of duty on a traffic stop. Please remember we have those at home who are also protecting our rights and freedoms each day. Unfortunately a few do it with their lives. His name has not been released yet, but my prayers are with his family on this day and we will lower our flags to half mast in his honor and memory.

I have two family members in Law enforcement, and this kind of stuff really bothers me.

Pretty sad. You aren't supposed to get shot down making a traffic stop, even if you're a plott guy.

Have they caught the shooters? If they have caught them and they aren't rotting corpses out in a wash somewhere outside of Escalante, I'd be happy to make the drive down today and close the deal.

Since I come from under the dump this one hits close to home, you never worry to much working around the small towns. Time to shroud the badge,

They have apprehended both suspects. One of them is from the Salina area. One of the suspects had been shot twice. There is a brief article in the Tribune this morning. Not alot of detail have been released.
