LAST EDITED ON Nov-17-04 AT 01:31PM (MST)[p]This buck I shot in the same unit in 82 in San Luis Valley. I like hunting the 3rd season beacause it seams to be that on Mt. Blanca. The bucks are starting to hit the rut. In this area there are alot of nice 4x4 hell you could be back by 7:00 a.m on the first day if you wanted to. Alot of people hunt this area but the don't know how. If you want a nice mule deer hunt apply for this unit and you can bet the bank you can come home with a nice mature 4x4. I shot this buck with my 264wm using 140 grain Hornady S.S.T.on the last day of the hunt. He was with 5 other bucks all pretty nice but he was the biggest. Me and my dad had passed up some real nice bucks and finally settle for this one. The only bad thing is I always forget to take a camera. This year i saw a muley that would rival the state record easily but he sit on private land in the old zapata golf course on hwy 150 that goes to the sand dunes. he has to have at least a 40" spread. I took some pictureof him so as soon as I get them back I will post them.
