The 2008 elk draw odds are up on the fish and game site.

I wish all the states were fast like Wy.

I think I blew it. My son drew the general tag with 2 points. From the looks of things I think I should have put him in for some non-general units as the 1st and 2nd choice and he still would have drawn the general as a 3rd choice, right? Dang!

Seems like I've seen some discussion about a strategy where you could draw but wouldn't blow your points - can anybody tell me what state that was in and the species?

Happy hunting!

Wrong - No body drew a general elk, in the regular tag draw, with second or third choice. Look closer at the report. The guys with 2 points drew their first choice, then the guys with fewer points drew their first choice. Even a few guys with low/no points drew as first choice. After all the first choices were filled, there were no tags left for second or third choice, regardless of points.

Good luck to your son. Hope he gets a lunker!

I thought I was at 8% with 0 points going in but looking at it this morning here at the house, not rushed at work... I am just under 2% odds of drawing....cheapie fee....

My bud from the midwest drew his 2nd choice as a General tag in the pricey fee group....he didn't get his unit 7 1st choice...

Now what to do for deer.... 125 or 102 or 82 or....ha

Do you guys know of a place that shows all the tags issued for a given unit in one docuement? In otherwords how many other hunters might be in the field with me on any given unit? I'm a newbie to the WY thing and I still can't quite figure out all the different hunts and odds.

Cheers,
Pete

HuntJock, BigFin is right!! i had 2 NR PP's and applied Random. Applied General as backup and got a refund. If I didn't have other hunts this year Id's have done the Special. Will consider it next year.
