LAST EDITED ON Nov-20-04 AT 07:27PM (MST)[p]After experiencing super highs and super lows, which include missing and blowing a stalk on two separate 30" bucks- we were able to connect with these bucks towards the end of the hunt. My brother's buck is a 5x7, 30-1/4" wide with 5" bases. The next day I was able to take a 5x7, 26" wide buck with 8" bases. Special thanks to those who helped us, you know who you are.

Here's my brothers buck...

unreal,congrats to you both!!!!!
Do I even have to ask if they are to be mounts?
I bet you got a lot of thumbs up when people saw those on the jeep,I think you might want to consider a 3/4 ton truck:)

Congrats to the both of you. Couple of nice lookin' bucks! Like the jeep too.

Hey OVERKILL - I was investigating a NM guided hunt for 05 muleys and was wondering if unit 2 in the NW part of the state is a good area? Is this near where you got yours? East of Jicarilla? I don't need to know where you got yours, just wondering if this is a good area? Thanks.

Congrats on a couple super bucks. You definately did better than I did in NM. Where those draw tags or over the counter? Also great pictures.

AZbowhuntr I also hunted NM Nov10-14 with an over the counter tag and was very dissapointed with what I found. I hunted unit 16. Three others in my party hunted 4 days and saw one little forkie. Where were you hunting?

Overkill,
Tremendous Success!!!! Way to go!!!! Congrats to you and your brother. I'm a sucker for Massive Bucks and your buck definately has got the Mass. I love those Bases!!! :):)

I'm with BCBOY on this one. I really like the mass on your buck. If you happen to get him aged, let us know what you find out. I'm betting he's nearing or over double digits. Congrats to you and your brother for two fine bucks.

VERY NICE bucks. Love the width on buck 1 and nearly messed myslef with the mass of buck 2.

Congrats on a fine hunt with two incredible bucks.

Are you kiddin' me!!! What does that thing have, a little Sequoia running through his veins? Those bases are like tree trunks! I had to put my eyes back in my head! Good job.

rnhunter, we hunted unit 23. We were right up against the Y6 ranch. It is about 50 thousand acres. Needless to say everything had been pushed onto the ranch. I saw a total of about 30 deer. All does except 3 little fork horns and one nice buck. And one of the guys in my group blew that one for me. He was running around the hillside like an idiot and then said it was ok because they can only smell really good. Time for new hunting partners.

I know exactly where you guys took those bucks. but i won't tell
your almost in Colorado though!!!!
nice ones. I lived just a few miles north of where you are in the first picture, just inside Colorado as I recognize the mountains in the background.

If I had a chance at both deer I would definetly shoot the one with all the mass. That deer is awesome.

Congrats on your success.

The taxidermist might have thrown out the jaw,I'll try and found out if he still has it. I'm quite curious myself and I guess in all the excitement I never looked at his teeth.
