WE FOUND THESE DROPS THIS FALL. THE TYPICAL, IF MATCHED, I THINK WOULD BE A NEW UTAH STATE RECORD. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? THE NON-TYPICAL IN THE SAME AREA. WE CAN'T DECIDE IF THEY WOULD WORK AS A MATCH? THE BASES AND EYE GUARDS MATCH UP REALLY WELL. WHAT'S THE POPULAR OPINION? HERE'S THE TYPICAL'S MEASUREMENTS:
G1: 6
G2: 18.5
G3: 12.5
G4: 11.5
BASES: 8
OTHER CIR.: 6-7
MAIN BEAM: 25.5
EST. SPREAD ~ 32

I hope they are from the same buck. It would be scarry to think there are two of them that size out there:)

Thanks for showing, those are awesome!

Those are amazing. I'll pay you a thousand bucks for the set. I really think that typical would gross in the 220s. Hunt that range hard man.... they might still be up there!!

I say different bucks . Those are hogs though . How old were these sheds when you picked them up ADDICT ? Thanks for sharing .

WE REALIZE THEY'RE NOT FROM THE SAME DEER. WE WONDERED IF THE TWO WOULD LOOK GOOD TOGETHER ON A REMOUNT. WE FIGURE THEY'RE 3 YEARS OLD. THEY'RE STILL PRETTY HEAVY AND NOT TOO CHALKY.

Well by the way ADDICT said it it made it sound like he asked if they were a match . Look at young buck he did the same also .
my guess there not alive anymore .

I would be in that same spot 24/7 matching them up. I wouldnt stop until I found them. GL, is the search on going? or not? also, you really think those are 3 year old sheds???

Are you being held captive in some shed hunter's basement? It looks like a scene out of the Blair Witch Project. Its hard to believe two deer of that caliber are alive anywhere together other than out on Antelope Island. Go down to the rental yard, rent a chute plane and go find the other ones if they are there.

In all seriousness, if they are the same buck, the pedicles will be very much alike looking at the bottoms of them on about 95 percent of the big bucks.

Maybe some other arm chair expert can expound on the knowledge he has gained sitting on his butt in front of his computer screen
somewhere in the suburbs and dispute my claim.

Bottom line, nice sheds. See if the Dungeon Master will let you outside during daylight to take some pictures with light that is less harsh.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-21-04 AT 10:44AM (MST)[p] Hope you get out , and find the other side ADDICT. I dont think that typical would be a new record. The second place here for b and c . Is a buck that was taken on mossback mulies 2 . It was taken somewhere in spanish fork . It scored 210 2/8 typical . second place typical of utah . It had 29 inch main beams . One of its g2's was 19 inches . It was a hog . If you want to see this buck go buy mossback mulies 2.

Incredible sheds. Way to go!
Hope you find the others out there.
Appreciate you sharing your great find with us...and I do not care where you take the pic. Thanks.
Best,
Jerry

I'm really surprised that someone hasn't added up the measurements that Addict included. Folks, this is a 100" typical drop and that is being conservative. I have two 180 bucks mounted and this drop absolutely dwarfs either of them. I've seen numerous B&C typicals and I've never seen anything even close on the mass.

Yes, we are actively looking for the other side (both the typical and non-typical).

Hope the search ends well! Maybe with a couple fresher sheds thrown in the mix!
I added the lengths the first time I seen the pics...and came up with 101"....Absolutely HUGE!
What does the non-typical shed score?
YB

WE TALKED TO OUR TAXIDERMIST ABOUT THEIR AGE TOO. I THOUGHT THEY WERE A LITTLE OLDER BUT HE EXPLAINED THAT JUDGING BY THEIR WEIGHT AND DENSITY THAT THEY WEREN'T VERY OLD. TRUST ME,THEY FEEL LIKE FRESH SHEDS WEIGHT-WISE. THE NON-TYPIVAL IS ABOUT A 185 TYPICAL FRAME WITH ABOUT 15 INCHES OF JUNK OR SO. WE NEVER SCORED HIM BECAUSE WE HAVEN'T STOPPED SALIVATING ABOUT THE BIG TYP!

Thanks YoungBuck. Like I said, conservatively at 100...We found these sheds on Labor Day weekend. We've shown the typical to a number of people (including my taxidermist) and everyone that has seen it is simply in awe.

Addict has been driving me crazy about posting them because he understands the potential. If you plug the numbers into the B&C scoring application on the B&C website, you'll find that the typical could have scored as high (no higher than twice the weeker side) as 225 4/8! Granted, I'm assuming a lot because I only have one side but that gross measurement is one inch less than the "Burris Buck".

I know how old these sheds are because I know how long bone lasts on the winter range where they were found - at the most about 5 years. Little critters gnaw them to nothing very fast.

Hopefully there is a son or grandson of this toad running around. You know where I'm focussing my efforts for the next serveral years. By the way, both of these sheds were found on public ground.

How big is the area you found the sheds in? I have found sheds in big areas that I have been able to find the other side in...on the other hand I have found small areas that I couldnt find matches for the life of me!
I wish you all the luck finding the match! I wish I could find the match to the big typical I found....and it was one of the small area sheds....its gotta be out there somewhere!
