Struck out in WY, next up is AZ, does anyone recall when the results were available last year, any chance they will be available before you have to fnalize your CO or NM elk apps?
jd

No way. Seems like it was posted just a bit late for NV and NM last year. Just apply and hope you don't have to waste a tag. At least CO offers a full refund, I would not mind sacrifcing CO points for an AZ tag. You can cancel the card in NM or NV if you draw AZ.

Last year Arizona DID have their results posted before Colorado and New Mexico's deadlines. Somewhere between the 25 and 30 of March. I have my doubts this year though with the paper only applications.

My notes also had March ~23 last year, but they were still using internet apps. It sure would be nice to know before April 1, but I wouldn't bet on it.

The March 23rd date is correct. They were charging credit cards on March 14th last year, but this year that won't apply. Good Luck!

Be prepared for a delay this year in the results. Cabelas is rumored to be asking for a court order to delay the draw until a judge can decide if the AZ G&F has to "accept" Cabelas T.A.G.S. service applications that were turned in two hours late.

Pretty much a crock if you ask me! It sucks for all the people that stand to a chance to draw a tag along with bonus points and loyalty points, but... Rules are rules.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-12-08 AT 09:23AM (MST)[p]Exactly, rules are rules, and if dumbasses at Cabelas can't follow them tough sh!t. This world is getting rediculous with everybody suing everybody. Whats the point of having rules and regulations if people are just going to take it to court? Hopefully they get a judge who has rare sense and tells Cabelas to shove it.

I have supported Cabelas for years, have defended them when others bashed them, and have spent thousands of dollars with them. If they really do take AZ to court, or even threaten to take them to court, I will never give that company another penny of my business.

It's Bush's fault!!!

LAST EDITED ON Mar-12-08 AT 11:58AM (MST)[p]yep, I got my license back in January, I bought it seperate before the app period.

if you included the license fee WITH your application you will get your license after the draw with your refund/tag.

I agree with what sremim has to say about the laws and if Cabelas does win this court battle never will I purchase another thing from them.If the applications were late thats to bad.If I turned mine in late I would be screwed what would make them above everyone else?I hope we all draw this year because of the huge mistake they have made to tell you the truth.
If anyone or service should know all rules and regs deadlines it should have been them.

I too will look elsewhere to buy my stuff. Sportsman's Warehouse is coming to town! What makes Cabelas so special they don't have to comply with the rules like the rest of us???

Like I posted in the general thread, somewhere between $100K and $200K in the AZGFD coffers for providing absolutely nothing makes a package of 600 applications special. $$$ talks, always has, always will.

Results will be on or before April 11th since first come for left over permits will be accepted on the 14th. So the results will most likely be out a week if not 2 weeks before then. I will take a stab and say around march 28th this year.

I agree with everyone, if Cabela's gets those apps.in the draw, I will never ever buy a thing from then again and I will ask all my buddies to do this same. If you are I were late, it would be tough luck. The problem is that they screw up and are worried about having to give refunds, lose of business, and possible lawsuit against them. You know, as I'm writing this I'm getting angrier and angrier. I will never buy from them again no matter what. If all MM members took this stand I bet it would put a heck of dent in their sales.

Oh Well,
Thanks for letting me vent.

I emailed cabelas to let them know that if they file a lawsuit i will never spend a single penny with them. Go to cabelas website under customer service and email them your feels.

Here is a copy of the email I sent Cabelas today:

This is not a question. I am writing about the problem Cabelas' Hunting Tag Service encountered with the Arizona Elk draw this year. As I understand it, there was a problem with the delivery of some 500+ applications to the Arizona Game and Fish. Evidently they did not get to the Game and Fish on time and were rejected. Cabelas then appealed the rejection of these applications to the game and fish and were denied any relief. It is my understanding that Cabelas is now considering court action. This would most likely result in the Arizona Game and Fish having to spend thousands of dollars in legal costs and attorney fees that should be spent on game management activities. In addition any court action would most likely delay the draw for all those hunters who timely applied. It has only been in the last few years that the Arizona Game and Fish moved the Elk draw up to the spring so that the lucky few that drew tags could make the time and arrange their vacation schedules to allow them to make the best out of this important hunt. The type of delays that are usually associated with litigation will completely frustrate the whole purpose of the early draw. In addition, the hunters who did get their applications in on time will be held up, simply because Cabelas wants to seek a way to avoid the clear and specific rules. I am a member of a hunting website site and I can say that most members disagree with any further effort by Cablelas to challenge the decision by the Game and Fish. Many have made it clear that if further challenge is made, these dedicated hunters will no longer shop at Cabelas. I can understand Cabelas' concern for the 500 or so customers who lost the opportunity to be in the Arizona Elk draw this year, but if Cabelas continues to challenge the Game and Fish decision, it will lose many more customers because of its efforts to get relief from the untimely submission of the applications. Cabelas should take a look at the entire forest(the hunting community that are entitled to have the draw timely proceed in accordance with the clear rules), and past the relatively few trees(the applicants that did not get their applications in on time) or it will run the risk of creating a broad range and long lasting serious problem.

Now that the Cabelas issue is behind us, when will AZ draw? I applied with 10 pts for an Az archery elk tag, I feel good about my chances. I have 16 CO pts I am ready to use but don't want to draw both. Anybody with any inside info. on AZ?

If you draw both I will gladly accept the one you dont want!!!
Otherwise just put in for a point.

That's it, keep litigating. Remember Taulman and USO? How did that work out? Are non-residents happy with the changes to AZ regs? Us Arizona residents will NOT tolerate this BS.

With a little more legal action, tag fees will go up (again) and maybe next year no commercial tag services will be allowed.

Maybe some more legal action in 2009, and there may no longer be any non-resident tags in AZ. AZGFD will respond by making up the revenue with resident only tags. Less residents hunting due to higher fees, only the fat cats left. That small segment will be easy prey for the antis.

My prediction, no hunting in Arizona by 2015. Just keep on litigating.
