I need a little help. I have four old friends from PA that are looking for there first Elk hunt out west. They are blue colar guys with not a lot of $$$. I am trying to locate a ranch that they can hunt and pay a reasonable trespass fee. Anyone have any recommendations. Good cow hunt would be fine even though one guy would like to buy a bull tag. Thanks in advance.

We have hunted with Rocky Mountain Ranch's and Larry is a great guy and has some good ranch's leased for hunting.Getting a little high priced ,but what isn't.

Thanks for the reference. I'll pass it on. I am not sure they are looking to pay that much though. Kind of looking for a rancher that handles it himself not a guide service.

You can check out Black Elk Outfitters, they have some tress pass hunts for arround $800

Rocky Mountain Ranches does have some great hunts on some very good property, but you can expect to spend at least 1500.00 minimum for any of his hunts. I book hunts here in Colorado and have worked with Larry in the past with some pretty good success. He is very professional, sometimes a bit too much, but he does run a good operation. I think he is also vice president of the Colorado Outfitters Association, but not 100% sure. Have you guys checked into a drop camp? You can get those for right around 1000.00, just have to be careful about where you go, obviously some places better than others. Let me know how it goes. Good hunting.

I just looked up Rocky Mountain Ranch's hunting trespass fee hunts, they are $1900.00 for 5 days of elk hunting.

That's what there looking for luck or a tip. Actually got a PM from someone who has private access to the National Forrest that has potential.
