My guess is deer. Do you know what the Dall sheep tag went for at FNAWS? 315k Not sure but I think that was the record.

I don't have 195k for an Auction Elk tag, but I did have 50 bucks to spend on two raffle tickets. I had the good fortune to draw the Super Raffle Elk Tag for 2007.

While some don't agree with these tags sales, there can be a positive impact on wildlife from the money raised. Whether delivering much needed water to dry tanks or repairing fences for ranchers that elk graze their pastures. We hunters benefit from the funds these tags raise and from the volunteers that put in their time making it all work.

I look forward hunting with family and friends, Tim Pender and Matt Mullins this summer. I've used the liberal season this tag allows to enjoy the outdoors to its full extent while gaining a much better understanding of the people and process that goes into these wildlife projects.

I encourage everyone go online and buy a ticket or two for the 2008 AZ Super Raffle. You never know when it will be your turn!

Clark,
Good post. When money is raised to help habitat for wildlife it benefits everyone. Congrats on the raffle tag. I hope you and Matt kill a big one. You will post pictures and give us a story, right? Good Luck!

I'm happy to share the story and photos once complete. This raffle tag has been so much fun for a guy that likes to hunt as much as I do. Hunting the September rut or hiking through the snows at 10 below in January, this has been a dream for me. The experience of going on five trophy bull hunting trips in one year has been incredible. I think I milked this extended season as much as one can from being out of state.

Finally loaded the gun and got it done. Thanks to Tim Pender and all the Mullins gang! What a year.

Thats a lot of cheddar for an elk especially in a year of economic downturn. I know in UT there where some tags that went real cheap at auctions this year. A panguitch lake premium tag sold for 10K at the RMEF banquet. I also heard that some of the fishlake archery tags went for $3500.I suspect that some LO's may even eat a few tags this year throughout the west.
