A good friend drew this tag. Does anyone have any helpful hints on the area. Evidently I'm using the wrong search terms,or there just isn't alot of info out there on this unit.
4B can be a tough unit. Bulls tend to rut silently when the hunting pressure begings.
Avoid the north part of the unit. Its had over-the-counter tags in it for the past 3 months, and it starts up again before and during the fall hunts.
Good Luck.
I hunted it last year. It's a good unit with solid elk numbers. The elk are in pockets which you will have to locate with preseasn scouting. As far as my experience goes, they were very call shy. We could get the little guys to come into the calls, but the bigger bulls were another story. Expect quads and hunters all over the unit. Good Luck!
