Does anyone have any information regarding 6A West they would be willing to share? I have been lucky enough to draw this as a second choice but do not know anything about the unit to be honest.

It can be a very tough hunt. While there is a ton of public land, access to the best areas is by foot, and can be rugged. There are some huge bulls in the area.

It's Bush's fault!!!

Rocky Park Road is rough like its namesake and best traversed on an atv. The Newman Park Rd-Willard Springs Rd loop is graded. There has been lots of thinning and controlled burning along Kelly Canyon Rd and the FR527 (which is the unit boundary on the north) just south of Kachina Village.

Flagstaff Archers will be having two 3D shoots on May 17-18 and July 19-20 in 6AW off the Willard Springs Rd.. Come shoot and scout the same weekend.

This lower part is over the counter for Bull elk? What is that all about? Is the season also overlapping my season?

The season just ended March 31 and starts up again sometime in late August and runs for a couple weeks into september. It is for any elk.

It's Bush's fault!!!

Do some of the Kachina Village bulls end up in 6A West or do the bulls tend to go into other units for the rut?

A couple of years ago, the biggest Kachina bull was hit on I-17 near Kelly Canyon. Currently, they are thinning the forest along Kelly Canyon.

Heading up to scout two years ago, I recall seeing a car smashed in on the median side of the highway. A hundred yards down the road or so was an officer sawing the antlers off a huge bull. This was in the N bound lane right in there. Always wondered about that bull, know I guess I know a bit more.
