Not my biggest mulie, but one I am proud of him just the same. It was a great trip and great memories!

Here is the picture of 6x6bulz ND Deer hunt. Congrats to you Greg on a nice buck and a very big smile as well, proud hunter.
Tell us the story behind the buck.

I hunted the beautiful Badlands of ND for five days with my father and hunting partner this year. We passed on a bunch of little bucks throughout the hunt. I missed a long running shot on a real dandy the third day. On the last day I spotted this buck chasing does. He was respectable, and being a kind-hearted fellow, I figured the ladies needed a break. He was hounding them mercilessly!! My hunting partner ranged this buck at 457 yards. I was prone, with a bipod, and very little wind. I dropped him with a single shot to the spine. The shot wasn't entirely lucky. I reload my own shells and shoot at the range from 100 to 500 yards during the summer. This buck is not my biggest mulie, but I am extremely proud of him and the shot as well! I also enjoyed the opportunity spend another year in deer camp with my father and hunting partner. Great memories!

Congrats 6X6. It doesn't sound like it was luck to me. If you practice that shot and make it consistantly then no luck there. Good shot and nice buck.

Thanks IdahoBugler. With reloading, I have found the gun is more than capable of accurate shooting at long ranges. It is usually the shooter, me, that is the weakest link!! Practice, practice, practice = Confidence in making a shot.

Lein2,

I drew a 4E mulie tag with no bonus points this year. I am usually not that lucky and have to wait a while between tags. Are you from ND?

6x6bulz-
WOW, congrats on the tag. Most guys I know usually get a tag once in about 4 years.
Yeh, I'm from Fargo. I've been kicking around the idea of applying for a muley tag, but can't bear the thought of not hunting whitetails in my normal area. Been thinking of going out and trying the them with my bow in Sept. but haven't yet.
Where you from?

Lein2,

I am from Bismarck and spend a lot of time in the Badlands bowhunting mulies as well. I would be happy to point you to some good areas if you are serious. Click on the first envelope icon and send me an e-mail so we can talk. Take care.
