January Lodging, Aztec NM

Got lucky and drew a tag for January archery hunt. Looking for lodging for two in Aztec or Farmington. Any one here have suggestions or experiences with any of the local establishments. Camping doesn't seem to be an option in single digit temps

Go to the following address: www.google.com and in the search window, type in "Motels in Aztec, NM" then the same for Farmington.
That should help you locate the motels and also probably will have Restaurants as well.

There is a super8 in Bloomfield, which is between Farmington and Aztec.

I live here. The best questions is what unit 2A or 2B.

If hunting 2B I would stay at Abe's.

If hunting 2A then stay in Farmington. They have all kinds of hotels.

One thing stay away from the Step Back Inn in Aztec. It is a nice place but the owners are not the kind of people that hunters what to give there buisness to.

2A. Called Abe's, really nice people. Informed me that they were probably too far from my hunting grounds and redirected me. I outta stay there anyway

I was thinking the Super 8 in Bloomfield. Anyone stayed there. Biggest concern is leaving equipment in room while out?? I know I should take it with us, but extra bows, arrows, binocs, etc, etc, gets a little crowded. Thanks for your input..

Abe's can actually be ok for either unit depending on which part of the unit you would be hunting. Abes can actually be the best bet for unit 2a if hunting the pump areas. if hunting laplata, I would actually stay at the motel up near the airport. Also, you may or may not be facing single digit temps either just depends on that given week.
