I would highly recommend him. Never hunted with him, but have seen his pictures. I have met him and talked with him and he as a damn nice guy. If he can tolerate me he can be nice to anyone.;-)
I personally think you would be happy with Jim. I can assure you he is as honest as the day is long.

I highly encourage and expect that anybody hunting with me checks references and does their homework. It actually takes a little pressure off if the hunter knows exactly what to expect from other people besides me.

I as well do not know Jim, but have followed his posts for a while now & am very impressed with his thoughts & line of reasoning on hunting elk! He's no rookie for sure. What I've seen he is no doubt a stand up guy & very knowledgeable. I'd hunt with him in a second!

Jim runs a good business from what I see. Check your references, but I really doubt you will hear any bad reviews. Last year after hunting with my wife I had a truck pass me with AWHOLELOTTABULL stickers on it. It had some pretty impressive hornage sticking out of the bed. I can assure you the pictures are not photo-shopped.;-)

Ahhh, Utah's elk management makes anyone a great elk guide who can put big bulls on the ground. It has worked for Jim, Nunya, and Slam. haha
I have never met Jim, but many guys who I know and respect say he is a great guy, hard working, fun to hunt with, and showers regularly. What more could a client ask for??

I enjoy the hell out of bs'ing with him. If he is not guiding clients, he is guiding his young daughters. To me that says a lot about a guy and where his priorities are. He has helped me out with questions and did not need to.

I wasn't trying to say there are others better, just was kidding around about how easy Utah bulls are to hunt and kill. I have never met Jim, but if I wanted a guide he would be one of the best, judging from what guys I know say.

Jim is most definately a class act guy, i have never heard one bad thing about him and he's always been awesome to me as well. The guy loves to talk and he seems to make friends with everyone very easily.
That right there is half your battle on having a fantastic hunt, you know your going to be around a great outfit full of top notch people, and killing your animal will just be the icing on the cake

Crap! I was hoping you had forgotten about that Gator. I found out that if you're not ordering thousands of dollars worth of product from them they aren't too concerned about you. I hope you have forgiven me for that little problem. I'm glad I got my one pair from them before they got stingy!

My dad is Jim Hiatt, owner and opperator of AWLB. Everytime my dad comes home from huntin camp he always has some "great" story to tell. And almost everytime, him and his huntin buddies come back with an "incredibull" elk. Yes, he also has hunted with me and my younger sister. We both have shot turkeys with him and last year he helped me nab a great Antelope. (you can see my antelope picture on my dad's website: awholelottabull.com) My dad has great relationships with all of the hunters he has met. He keeps great contact and is always sharing hunting stories.

Goodness, I would hate to have all this pressure on me now...Looks like AWLB needs to make this one a good one!! LOL...No doubt about it, great guide. I have never hunted with Jim, but obviously by the responses on here and what others off the board have said, you cannot go wrong. You don't see a business or guide that often with that many positive responses. Mostly all you hear is the bad stuff, pretty rare these days to see such a good rating. Better book the hunt while you can.
