Well, remember how none of us thought that the pictures of the 400" bull taken by the young hunter in Colorado last fall was even close? Well, seems that B&C disagrees with us. Fifth largest typical elk ever taken in Colorado officially scoring 400 4/8...wow....I swear that kid must be close to 7 foot tall! Check out the link on the B&C website and scroll down to "A Colorado Bull for The Ages." I was dead wrong on this one.

Now if we could only ever figure out what happenned to the "15 bases post"

I was a doubter too - it doesn't look like it has enough mass though I felt it was probably a 380 bull. But upon closer inspection it is better that we all thought! I guess that pic doesn't really do it justice. It is easier to judge them live that's for sure. It is one heck of a bull at any rate - a truly unique trophy that if I were to take, I wouldn't care what the score was.

Wow.
That is just flat freaky. That bull does not look nearly 400" but I guess I am wrong. it would be fun to see it in person.
That is cool!

LAST EDITED ON May-06-08 AT 04:22PM (MST)[p]Well even if it's official, i still can't see it but would like too on paper, and that kid HAS to be over 7' tall!! lol

He's got a long extra point on his left side between his sword tine and his 3rd, plus a long G6 on that same side, and 2 extra behind that stubby sword tine on his right.
I guess that shows us how quick extra points add up!

I'll bet if he was sitting down BEHIND that bull, it would make all the difference in the world.

But none the less, the bull is what he is apparently!

In looking at the elk from AZ that they project to be close to 400, and then looking at this bull, they dont seem that close at all. The AZ bull a couple pics higher looks much bigger, but hey, who am i to judge. Real nice bull no matter what it scores.

i bet that colorado bull is real wide(pushing 50) and has long main beams(60"), otherwise point length wise it doesn't add up to me. but that picture is not great.

that AZ bull is the one i shot... it is official with pope and young at 400 4/8 net typical. the main beams are right at 55" and the inside spread is just over 40".

Don, congrats on one hell of a monster bull. DAMN, I can see how that bull is all of 400". Interesting that they have the Colorado bull with the same score as yours, quite the coincidence....Good camera angle on your photo as well, shows the tine length.
