A WAITING GAME

I have decided that Utah's LE elk permit is nothing but a waiting game.

1. You wait 3 months after applying for results.

2. Waited over 15 years for a tag.

3. The weather man reported last night there is still 74 inches of snow in the backcountry so who knows how long I will have to wait to scout.

5. Don't want to waste the tag so maybe I will wait until the last hour of the last day to punch my tag.

6. Then I will have to wait 60 days to find out if I shot a pisscutter or if I can be part of bobcat's posse.

and my wife says I have no patience !!!

I must have missed something.... I never knew that bobcat had a posse and that folks were actually interested in joining???

This is quite baffling!

What happened to #4?

Just think Travis, archery opens in 100 DAYS! Not that I am counting down or anything.

Pro,

He is waiting on number 4 as well.

I have a new one to add to the list. Waiting for the 7 or 8 months to pass by so that I can apply for the tag again only to get another "Unsuccessful" notification.

Just when I am feeling good about myself, someone points out that I am losing it, He&& I don't know what happened to 4 I may have waited too long, this is another sign of how old I have become waiting.

As far as bobcat he will need a posse by the time he draws, I imagine he will have to wait at least ten more years. I just want to get my resume in first so I can watch him put the hammer down on a 380 bull. Assuming of course I get a big stinky instead of a pisscutter.

PRO,

I found out what happened to number four.

I had to wait for my neighbor to ask me if I got my letter. I said what letter?

Anyway it finally came, not only do I get to hunt a pisscutter on a premium N Cache elk tag, it appears I have drawn a West Desert-Vernon rifle deer tag in the dedicated hunter drawing.

So #4 receiving a tag in the mail you weren't even waiting for.

Now if someone will tell me where Vernon is at and offer a little help I would appreciate it. Patiently Waiting.

MP,

The vernon is a decent tag to have! It is located south of Tooele a ways. Used to be hundreds of bucks running around. I have not been out there in the last10 years though. I actually never hunted it. A friend of mine killed a nice archery buck out there 2-3 years ago. He saw some great bucks too. I could probably get you two lined up for info if you are interested. Let me know.

I think you should concentrate on your elk hunt and "gift" your deer tag to me!!

Congrats on both tags!
