UT ELK - Diamond Mtn Muzzy Tag

I drew the UT Diamond Mtn muzzle loader elk tag and would appreciate any info that can be provided regarding this hunt/unit. I am familiar w/ the area - private versus public lands, however have never hunted this unit. Again, I appreciate your recommendations!

Are you using a guide or DIY ???

Muzzy tag was the tag to have last year. Elk were very vocal that week compared the the rifle hunts. Should be fun, just don't shoot the first six point you see.

DIY - at least for now. I know a guy in Vernal that helped me w/ a bookcliffs bear that might guide that area as well, right now I am not pursuing that avenue. I'll have the opportunity to spend several weekends out there at least learning more about the unit.

I drew also, we'll have to hook up, I have hunted the unit for deer serveral times but looking forward to hunting elk, It will be a challange trying to determine public vs private though. Anyone know what kind of bulls they shot last year

Absolutely. It is gorgeous country, and I am really looking forward to this hunt. Lots of private land in some areas, where other areas seem primarily public.
