Most Velvet Growth So Far?

Just curious how big the velvety bulls are where you're at.

I spent 4 days glassing for bears in N.E. Oregon and all I saw were elk and deer but quite a few bulls. I was surprised at some of the growth thus far.

The biggest bull I saw as of 5/26 was just sprouting his 4s and has +/- 12" fronts, 12" twos, 8" threes so far.

Well according to the "too early" post, some well known guide is already watching a couple 400" bulls!! LMAO!!

from what i hear that bull should go over 600 before its over!!!!!! haha here in arizona the biggest bull i have seen had his fours with about 5 inches of beam past.

The few I have seen were a bit more than that. They were in Estes Park . At Mc Donalds

someone told me a buddy of theirs seen one bull that has most of his fifth but thats the biggest i have heard of around where i live.

I AM THE ULTIMATESHEDFREAK!!!!

WHAT THE H! OMG! Nice pic. That is unreal! Please tell me those aren't surrounded by a 10' fence.

Saw this bull on Sat. First elk I've ever seen in my neck of the woods and I've lived here for 16 years. Surprised the hell out of me.

Those are some great shots! Good job and he is a good lookin bull. Its always fun to watch them at this time of year they change so much every week.

This picture is a little grainy, but it is from Tuesday in Southern Utah- Public Land right at the last 1/2 hour of Magic Hour. This beast was already pushin his 5ths and almost gave me a heart attack feeding right off the main highway.

Had a chance at a better view, but darn dog thought he could herd this bad boy, so he took off from 20 yards to about 75 skylighted through the timber. Had to zoom a bit, so sorry for the marginal quality.

great bull. got some width and nice fronts but i am unclear where he is pushing his 5ths. Is it whitened out or did you mean his 4ths?

I apologize again for the picture quality. His 5ths are kinda hard to see in this pic because they went straight back and this picture doesn't really do it justice. I had a closer pic, but like I said before... the dog started barking and the elk bolted right as I snapped it; leaving the picture really blurry.

Dang my heart is pumping! M o t i v a t i n g to say the least. M u s t g o s h o o t and w o r k o u t now.

Grainy pic or not, we get the idea! Awesome bull that will be freakishly wide. Personally I like the "snap shot" of the bull. It's usually how we see them. That WA bull pic is nice!
