1/2 body elk mount....

So, I killed a nice spike last year. Any Ideas on a 1/2 body mount pose ? Please post pictures if you do. Anyone thats seen my mounts knows I like real, lifelike, nicer mounts.

My idea Is to have a 1/2 body coming out of the wall and have a creek with a running pump with water cascading down from the Left side to the Right side. I want an Aspen tree (or 2) in the mount because he was in aspen trees. When IDB and me were looking for it Browtine was on his spotter telling us it was down next to 2 aspen trees. I'm still laughing at those directions

Anyways, Any picture of Idea would be great and helpfull.

I saw a really cool half body mount of a spike that was reaching down to feed on some tall grass through a barbed wire fence next to a highway. His head was cocked a little to the left and his tines cleared his ears by a good 2cm!. The front legs were a little splayed as he was getting low and there was even a patch of asphalt that the grass was growing out of and there was some authentic highway artifacts too - a cigarette butt and a crushed 7-UP can. This was a Utah bull of course.

Be careful of moisture too close to the mount, you could have mildew issues down the road. Sounds like a pretty cool idea though.

I think the 1/2 elk mount sounds like and interesting idea. I dont think Ive ever seen one, and if done right (the way you describe it on Hunttalk sounds good) then it will a great looking mount.

As far as the ducks....looks good. Your taxi has done a great job....let us know how the mount does at the taxi contest.
