hunted there three years ago and went with dad last year. diamond peak and middle mountain places to go. did he draw nonresident bull or cow tag

Hunted there 2 years ago rifle season. Tons of elk, lots of rutting, awesome hunt, you guys will have a ball. I was up there scouting all fall and found elk all over the unit, not just up in the thick pines and quakies. Hit some of the steep south side faces and canyons and you will find some GOOD bulls. Good Luck. Dont forget to send some pics this fall!

Congrats for a great tag. i am going to apply for that tag next year i have 18 pts now. How many pts did it take u to draw an r u a nonresident. thanks kurt.

Kurt I had 15 preference points, I'm a resident of Colorado.
I opted for the muzzle loader tag in lieu of the rifle tag, as you can see it yielded a tag a bit sooner. Fetch

No problem Fetchman !!! Monstermuleys is a pretty cool place and some guys with some great info usually. Ive heard guys talk about some water pots on the south side of the mountain that draw elk to them I think Id find out how to find these water pots ? What is a water pot ? Are they on the map ? 16yearwait you know about these ? Fetch tell them you'll send some of our Sturgis pics in trade for some elk info !!! lol Gary

Yeah, go to the beginning of a new forum and at the top of the page you will see a small "search" do a search on Feleno. Then there is little icons by everyones name and you can send him a pm or private message. Id also send a pm to 16yearwait. He sounds like he's been there too. Gary
