father's day 'sojourn'...

went lookin' for the OMG bull this am...got on the hill a little past 4:30, but only had to go half way down the canyon as there was lots of 'action' all around me...decided it best to just sit and watch, and see what 'comes by'...

first ones i saw feeding out into a little meadow..

then, right below me..

was watching those, and looked over to my right...

they were just starting to lay down...see his head just to the right of the one standing?

some more down below me started bedding, also..

see the 2 that tried to 'slip by me'?

moved over the side hill a little, and 'looked over'...saw the one, and just caught a glimpse of some 'bone' in the bottom of the view finder...see'em?

looked a little further to the right and saw another...now, i'm starting to get excited, cuz i'm sure there are more...

'peeked' over a little more...

caught this one just laying his head down...he actually layed over on his side, but, i 'missed it'..sorry.

some others...

couldn't keep his eyes open...

finally, one got up...

thought i'd 'been had'...but, no. the sun was in his eyes and i was close, but the breeze was 'with me'...

sides, he needed to scratch...

the breeze 'shifted', and when i felt the 'cool' on my neck, i knew the jig was up...

now, i'm just gonna start takin' pics...

he was gonna come 'check me out'...

then thought better of it...

one 'last look' from the shadows, then they were gone...

hey, if'n ya don't like lookin' at lots of elk pics, don't look at my posts...hope all your 'father's day' went as fun as mine... oh yeah, never did 'find him'..
