16c youth hunt

My nephew drew the 16c youth hunt. I have never hunted the unit before so any info would be greatly appreciated. we are stoked, this will be his first elk hunt. Thanks in advance.

I suggest you shoot the first 390 bull you find. Don't make the mistake of passing on big bulls only to take a 340-ish bull 3 days later.

First suggestion I have is bring plenty of supplies. No gas station nearby. I hunted archery last year there second hunt. Contact me and I will tell you where I hunted. Also, no cell service.

The Elk are educated in C. They know who and what you are. They will walk around you when calling.
They stick to a pattern very well unless bumped. To water just before dark, then start moving out just before shooting light. And they keep moving ...till they get where they're going.
My suggestion is to call only to locate, put on the Sneaky Feet and ambush them.

+1 on what WapitiBob said. I think you guys are in for a heck of fun hunt, Get the pattern down in scouting it a few days before the hunt and kill a nice one on the first day.
