I drew the first rifle hunt have necer been to the area it seems like the north end of the unit would be the best any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

My family has hunted the area for 30 plus years. If you have a map, find the road that leads up to the Trout Lakes. Any where off the road to the north or the south, you just got to get off the road and walk.

Not the best unit for big bulls, but a good elk unit never the less.

Look up Adam Archuleta of Angel Canyon Outfitters, he knows that unit like the back of his hand. He lives and breathes unit 51. Good bulls 300-340 class.
