NM Unit 16C 2ND hunt Oct 18-22

I drew the second elk rifle season tag. I will be able to make it twice to scout. Should I go with an guide or DIY? What type of elk should I see during this tag? I think I can do it myself as I feel there should be plenty of elk. Any thoughts and guidance is helpful.

Just got my elk tag in the mail on Saturday and I live in Albuquerque. Still no deer tags yet for my house although others have gotten them. Was told by F&G buddy not to worry as they are taking some time getting them out this year.

elk1979...you shouldnt have a problem seeing elk in this unit...get off the roads and ditch the atv and you'll be fine
