540 Elk

I was traveling through a small town in New Mexico and stopped to get a fishing license and drinks, on my way to Bill Evans lake. I saw a picture on the wall of this gas station of a 540 bull. Has anyone else seen this and is it real?

Thats the bull they said was killed I think in the Selaway.. but it was a doop. It was a shooter bull. They did genetic testing on it and found it to be crossed with I think red stag or something like that. Not the real deal. The biologist said the genetics of that area could not produce such a bull elk. Another scam unraveled!

No, that's a rumor BQH, that is a selway bull and it was with a bigger one that got away......my neighbor's x-brotherinlaws cousin knew the guy that got the first email.....

No, my buddy's little sister killed it here in NM with a spear. In fact, it was killed right next to Kirt Darner's high fence operation....

Every one of you've got it wrong...that bull IS in a high fenced area, and is used as a stud for all the cows on the property. Then they sell all the male offspring to utah for the cost of a limited entry tag.

One more thing, it isn't dead! they tranquilized it for the picture.

That picture was taken at the time the bul was 3.5 yerars old, he's now 9, so if anyone has a more recent picture please post!

Your all wrong this is a wild colorado bull that the governors tag turned down cause it was to small he thought about stickin it with a spear but passed because it was quite the quality that he wanted i know because my ex girlfriends twice removed inlaws sons illigitimate daughter is dating the friend of the guy who found it

Now look what an accomplishment hunter he is.
He/she shoots giant crossbred bulls from the Selway Bitteroot/Colorado/Ontario/New Mexico area with a tranquilizer for seman extraction samples for Utah's LE units!!

Wrong again, I got vidoe of the bull, well I dont have it but my friends cousins sisters boyfriend has it on film last year and it is a big bull, and there is a bigger one that got away.

I don't know where you guys got your information from but that bull was taken down on the San Juan LE unit in Utah. Oh crap, there goes the odds again!!!

No way Jim there arent any elk on the san juan my brothers uncle from his girlfriends last marrige with the polygamysts two sisters told me that all the elk from that unit were transported to colorado last week and that the rest of the state is following soon ;-)

I just love how some guy pays like 100K to shoot a fenced bull in Canada and dresses up in Camo to try to make it look legit.

WHAT A FREAKING JOKE!!!!

Even worse is every year some guy pays big money to shoot livestock like this and then all these dumb A$$ rumors start about a potential world record.

Happens more often with Whitetails I guess.
