i've come to the conclusion that my life is so filled with 'fun', that i am just about to burst...there are others i am sure, that have fun...but, no one has 'more' fun than me...
i found some good bulls yesterday, so decided to go back up this morning at 0:dark thirty, and try and get on them...they were way down in the bottom of a big canyon....after hiking down in the dark, when it got light, i started 'lookin' around' for'em...of course, they were up at the top, where i started from...no way to get on'em before they bedded down for the day, so decided to try and get some pics of some others...bunch of smaller bulls and cows and calves were 'in the area', so went after them...
found this small bull...(notice he is looking to the right)
had another young one join him...(still lookin')
they did a little 'sniffin' each other out'...
the bigger one was gettin' a little irritated (ears back), and i knew it was comin'...hoping to 'catch it'...
WHAP...i 'caught it'...
a little 'show' of the tine...
then, others started joinin' in...all looking to the right...i couldn't see anything, but figured there must be more elk over there somewhere...
then, a bunch of young bulls showed, and they were 'lookin' too'...
then...it 'showed'...
comin' right up the draw towards me...
it heard the 'click' from my camera and sat down and started lookin' around from whenst it came...geez, i gotta start packin' a pistol...i was looking around for a tree to climb, just in case..
but, it continued on...
walked right by me...
then, it went away...
on the hike out, i did find this one...
just as i got to the top, i saw this ol' gal...she wouldn't leave...
found'em..catchin' some sun..
i heard her call'em...
they all flew right to her, except this one..he went up...
now...was that 'fun', or what ? we'll go again, soon...
