I probabbly should have posted these in the a different forum but I'm so used of this one I just natually went to it.

Anyway here are a few photos of a decent ram I took last weekend while looking for mule deer. I caught this guy headed up the side of the mountian and managed to get close enough for a couple of decent photos before he cut a trial up into the rocks.

Hope you enjoy.

The mule deer was hard enough, now you reminded me that Alberta has all those big sheep. I should of stayed with that girl from Calgary I once dated.

LOVE THOSE BIGHORNS!

Do you live near the Black Bear and Whitetails of Alberta?

Thanks
WB

In responce to Wyomingben

Where I live there are Muleys of coarse, whitetails, sheep, elk, moose, antelope 60 to 80 miles east, black bears, grizzlies, Mt. Lions, wolfs,wolverine.....well you get the picture. All these species can be seen throughout the year.

This may be a little off the topic but you know guys I believe we're all really fortunate to be able to live on such a great continent as North America.

Personally when I look out of my house to the south from Alberta
into Montana, for the life of me I never could see where the two countries start and stop. All I see is farmland, ranchland, mountains and blue sky.
I'm pretty sure non of the wildlife can tell you where the boundaries are ether and right or wrong that's the way I think it should be. I'm proud of the fact that we have such a diverse variety off wildlife and habitat here in the part of Alberta where I live but I don't send the photos or tell everyone to brag that we've got more than the next guy. To me I see where I live as just a piece of the whole. Right or wrong as far as I'm concerned it belongs to "all of us" and it's up to all of us to make sure we can pass it on to our kids and their kids no matter where we live.

Sorry for carrying on so forgive me. Come and visit sometime, you're welcome in my camp and neck of the woods anytime. I know I sure enjoy coming down to your piece of the woods.

Rod,

we think alot alike. I thank god every day I go up in the hills with what he has blessed me with and hope he does the same to the next guy. I am actually heading up to the mountains to take a few pictures of my stomping ground right now. I thank you for posting pictures, they are of the highest quality and are always willing to share. I am actually thinking of how I can take pictures better than rod LOL, when I go up. Well I will be back in a while with some pics from my country hopefully with a few animals.

No Guts...No Story!

Very inspiring Rod!

Your pictures are always stunning and keep me in awe. The shooting you do with your camera is the best. Now to read your thoughts about the environment and wildlife that it sustains is even more inspiring. I could not agree with you more. Myself and my kids love to see the pictures you post here. In fact, one day my 6 year old son said ?do you think he has good stories to tell about these pictures like grandpa does about his?? my reply was, ?the pictures as it is tells a great story?.

Keep up the good work Rod.

Thanks for the invite, I have been to Alberta one time. I toured the Canadian Park above Glacier Park in MT. and went on to Calgary, thats as far north as I went on that trip. I love Alberta, so much of it reminds me of Wyoming. I dated girls from Calgary and Lethbridge when I lived in Sheridan. It was common for Canadians to go to Dential Hygentist School there. Anyway your picture are amazing quality, its not that your from Alberta, your pictures are like post cards. Your welcome at my fire anytime, if you ever get down this far south.

Great animal (and picture of him). Was in Edmonton a couple weeks ago when it was -40. Northern Idaho says hello and when we look north and ride our snowmobiles up there we too wonder about borders!! Have a great one and keep up the great photos.
