slam and ismith, yeah, I guess there would be something about him succumbing in a manner other than by a hunter. Actually, even though I have a tag for that unit, I kinda hope he makes it through the season healthy. I'd love to shoot that bull, but there are plenty of other bulls on that unit that I'll be extremely happy to take, and it would be kinda neat if this icon lives to another year. I would love to see him, whether I ever get an opportunity or not. I love watching wildlife, and rutting elk are about my favorite to watch. Spending some time watching him, regardless of how it comes out, would be memorable for me.

50-55K for starters.....anyone else??????

He will go for the regular admission of a guide, if the hunter uses one. He doesn't live behind a fence with a tag in his ear. Why would anybody pay more than the going rate? There's no guaranty.IMO

If I'm the lucky tag holder who gets him, he'll go for exactly the cost of the tag, gas, food and some boot leather. I'm hunting on my own, probably with one buddy along for the experience and to help with calling. Of course, I'm not going to get him, and I doubt anyone else will, either.

Anybody that thinks that bull lives through the season is nuts .!!
They are camping on him now !

I know I might get crap for saying this but. What is the person who pay lots of money to kill the spider bull going to say when he gets a look at that tatoo on the lip of that bull showing whos elk farm it got away from.
I wan't to see the pics from that bull last year.... Maybe there aren't any because it has a fence around it.
