DSC_3873.jpg

then, i realized his 4th on his right side, was actually growing out the back of his main beam...arrow is pointing to the 4th...

save the pic, and magnify...you'll see it better. i'll go after him tomorrow and try and get better and closer pics....i think i know where he might be sleeping tonight...

not trying to be mean only bring something to your attention. That bull is completely normal, other than having a cheater. What you are refering to as his 4th is actually his main beam. And what u are refering to as his 5th and 6th is actually his sword tine with a little kicker coming off the back. Not uncommon. Sorry to burst your bubble

oh, my gosh...you 'burst my bubble'...i knew there would be non-believers...but, that's o.k. these pics don't 'show' it well...i'll go for more..

craig...yes, i have from 'long distance'...it has been way to hot to 'make the hike', but is starting to cool down. may try and do so shortly...

THOSE ARE SOME SWEET PICS LF. I LOVE THEM! THANKS FOR TAKING ME ALONG. I TOO CAN'T WAIT TILL YOU GET SOME MORE PICS OF THE DROPPER BULL. I REALLY CAN'T WAT TIL YOU KILL THAT SWEET SPIKE FROM YOUR LAST PICS. THE ONE THAT IS A "RECORD BREAKER"!

BUGLEMN

Get everyone else's opinion. The angulations of each of the referred to points and compare it to the left side. The 4ths match right up as well as the main beams. What's more realistic, a sword the exact same angulation as the other side with a kicker as I have seen many times or a retarded mainbeam that shoots straight up and a 4th that shoots downward and rearward, especially of that length. Go ahead and think what u want if it makes it more exciting of a find but i assure u that is not the case.

Bubbas, you the man. Its people like you that know everything that keep people from posting pics in sites like this. Why is your "opinion" more correct over Littlefoots. Just keep your trap shut and enjoy the pics.

Thee, ah, angulation of the yada yada yada is not congruent with the aformentioned yada yada yada....;-) I agree..those are awesome pics as usual LF:)regardless of what others may try to explain. Keep posting them because, I, for one love looking at them....good job.

hey, if u look at my first post it was not mean spirited which is why i prefaced the post that way so he would know right off the bat what my intentions were, and still are. It was only after he shot that down "with a oh my gosh u burst my bubble" reply that I was trying to explain. Didn't mean to be rude rather educate. By the way in all the following post no-one bothered to give their opinion. I enjoy discussion and debate. If u feel the same way as littlefoot on the configurations then say so. I am curious what u guys think after studying photos.

Littlefoot, truely it was not to be mean spirited and i apologize if it came across in text that way. Rather, I was trying to initiate discussion. I love your photography also and enjoy the pics so post away and i won't comment anymore. I would still like to think what everyone else thinks (from a curiosity standpoint), unless you guys don't think it's important and will hurt feelings.

Did members of this forum NOT say "shut thee trap"? Pigs Squeal and your still squealing!!

hey Rammu (hypocrite),
First off bud, I was not trying to have personal attacks and then even explained and appologized. I have yet to see a post by u that had any worth to it. Usually irrational and full of attacks. Big and Bad behind the type writer. Bring it buddy!

Cut the guy a little slack, he is just trying to initiate conversation and share some of his knowledge. I for one think it looks an awful lot like a non-typ, but I didn't study too hard. Those pics are pretty awesome, and thanks for sharing.

Wow.....amazing!!

Maybe everyone can give littlefoot a little respect and bicker through PM's or off site.

Great pics 'lf'. Always enjoy em'!

whoa...everyone...it's all good.. bubbas..no problem here. you saw it the way you saw it, and explained...that's all fine..i see it different, but i surely hold nothing against you for your opinion about it..you certainly owe me no apology..i probably owe you one for the 'ribbin' i was givin' ya...anyway, i'll try and get more pics of this fella, and we can discuss it a little more... we're all havin fun here, right ? life is good...

LAST EDITED ON Jul-23-08 AT 07:46PM (MST)[p]I appreciate your response Littlefoot. I wanted to apologize because it's hard to get tone or intent across in text and i could see how it could have been taken in a negative light which is why i tried to preface the post first but apparently some have some axes to grind here. I'm glad we can put that to rest.

Now we can go back to discussion as intended. It is funny how our own experiences or memories lead us in forming initial judgments when we first see something. I am coming from the perspective of having seen and personally and in photos many bulls that look just like yours with that exact "kicker" coming off the sword in that manner. However there is usually a split on what you are calling his downward forming 4th making it clearly evident that there is a main beam with a fifth and a 4th with a kicker. A great case in point is the auction bull killed by Mike Malick last year with the aide of some friends, Mossback/Arizona. If you go on Mossback's website and click on the state of arizona, there are photos of this bull. you will see it has the exact same configuration (on larger scale obviously) as your bull. Only difference is there is an obvious fifth and sixth whereas with your bull i am contending is only a 5 point on the right side. Again seeing how the tines lay back in the same manner to the left side from a frontal and side view I just felt like that was much more plausible than having a main beam shoot awkwardly upward and a sword growing downward as a droptine and that long to boot, with no other abnormalities to the rack. The odds of that are really low. I am not saying it isn't possible or saying you're weird for suggesting that. Either way, the bull is odd and way cool to look at....thanks for sharing
Again, just interesting discussion, as if we were out in the field looking at bulls together. Thanks for being a man about all this and discussing. This is what i get out of these threads.
