How about a pool on when he will die?

I'll pick on or before August 16th.

JB

Oh, and I'll take (C)

Who cares?

He's not the only big elk in Utah this year. Heck, he's not even the only big elk on Monroe this year.

Tines up is hunting this bull right now with a disabled hunter. If he kills him, it will certainly be a bull of many lifetimes.

my prediction is he is going to cross the road at night infront of a KW and become the states most talked about road pizza
Good Luck and Great Memories

I just want to see how much money the person pays to get guided to that bull. The more guides the more money... Show me the money...

Maybe the president of the Utah chapter of PETA will hit in while driving a Mini Cooper or Volkswagon bus.

Somehow Bess..I don't get the impression that the meat is of highest importance when a World Class Bull hits the ground. Case in point: a certain un-named 2007 Pahvant World Class Bull hits the ground on an evening ARCHERY hunt. High fives and tape measures in the headlights. Fast forward to the next day after all parties can arrive from various destinations for the official photo-shoot. Wait till high noon for best photo light. Meanwhile the bull can wait patiently in the 90 degree heat to be broken down.

I hope I am way off on how this went down, but from watching the vid it sure looks that way. Hopefully Spidey will meet a more Sportsman like farewell should the end of his days happen soon.

Thats pretty much how it went down Utodd. However after the high fives and taping the bull was gutted and cleaned up. The hide was left on. He was taken to a meat locker and propped up into the same pose as he is in the pic. And then yes the next day some pics were taken around 10 am. Then skinned and back to the cooler. Things are not always as they seem and the mossback guys aren't as bad as you have heard. Come to think of it they are some of the greatest guys around.

Nunya...thanks for the insight. Sounds like a lot of care was taken to make sure that the beast not only looked good but also tasted good. I met DM many years back down by Bryce Canyon when he was 'small potatos'. Had a great chat and he told us about his hunt on the Pauns and his vids he had started to produce. Seemed like a decent fellow. I guess when you are on the world's stage you are open to a lot of criticism. He is certainly not small taters anymore.

Again- thanks for clarifying.

So help me , but if anybody gets wise, but here it goes.Does anybody have a picture of this UT bull I keep reading about here?

LAST EDITED ON Aug-01-08 AT 03:01PM (MST)[p]How many of the guys that are disabled are hunting with a crossbow? How many of those are truly disabled. How many got a handicap sticker just to get a jump on the competition I got a friend that is disabled and parks in the best spots at Wal-Mart and then gets out of his vehicle and walks just as good as I do into purchase his goodies. My point is he is not disabled just knows a good doc.

I could care less if they shoot it with a crossbow or if they are truly handicapped but I am putting my bet spidy get taken with a crossbow this year.
and mossbacks handy capper gets the bull with a crossbow thats my bet

Archery is a year round commitment!!

d13r, Thanks for posting him. Holy damned crap, that is a stud of a toro! I now understand all the talk of the bull, wow,.MossBack deffenitly has thier team watching this bull .aGAIN THANKS FOR POSTING HIM...

The rumormill is flyin. Another site said Spidey was put down Aug.1st from a disabled hunter. Don't know if it's true, just flingin some chit. We'll see if this rumor pans out.

I don't vote for any of your options.....the one you should add is someone gets killed over this bull.....

>I don't vote for any of
>your options.....the one you should
>add is someone gets killed
>over this bull.....

Excellent point... Someone puts an arrow in a bull. options:
1. Others see it and as it is still about ready to fall he throws an arrow and know gets hit anywhere on the elk. He tries to tag it.
2. Others see it get hit and then chases it down to put an arrow in it.
3. Original hunter hits the bull and starts running after it others put the sprint on... Looks like the Roman time with arrows flying at the poor bull. People screaming at each other.

Guns are drawn and it is settled like the old Westerns.

I heard a rumor that a bull came off the Monroe yesterday. I hope it was the Disabled bowhunter! Also, Scott, I understand he is not guided by Moss??

Time will tell.

Tick Tock.......

How about it browtine. Was it Doyles or Tines-up hunter? Score? Here is my guess. 13x9, 449 gross?

I know four things for sure!
Mossback is not hunting the spider right now and can't hunt him till the 16th. Nobody has killed the spider bull Yet! Everything you hear isn't true. And I need to leave right now for the mountain.

Any wager on this bull being a Ranch raised bull, release in the wild..I'll bet money it is.
Only B&C antler testing will tell all.

I was up on Cove Mt. this weekend and was talking with some guys from Salt Lake that have a Monroe Elk tag-- they told me that the Spider Bull was killed by a disabled Iraq Veteran. Anyone confirm this ?

K when mossback killed the 443 bull last year the secret was out in 2 hours i dont think this bull will last longer than ten minutes fore the whole world knows he is dead! im gonna go with nope he is still alive and kickin for a little while anyway

Wildlife population control specialist

+1 berrysblaster,

10 minutes is being generous. Also, imagine if that was MossBack telling people the bull was dead...

Spidey is dead!!!!! he put up a great fight but in the end a great stalk and the proper equipment put him down for the count! It took a fly swatter and a ladder but this quater sized eight legged giant will kill no more bugs! lol ;-)

The bull was captured by aliens last week. Doyle hired Will Smith the man in black to find the bull which he did. Shooting down the space craft and getting the bull back. Due to the high radio active content of the bulls antlers, he was sold to the US Gov. and is now powering the new super stealth aircraft carrier which is enroute to the persian gulf and will end the war. This should seal Doyle's bid for president of the US in November. You should also see a huge reduction in gas prices any day.
Anyway thats what I heard.

I heard that Tommy Lee Jones is Doyles Campaign Manager and his mascot is the bull! Kalan will be a strong canidate for Vice and the office is all but locked up!

LMFAO!!!

Dudes on Tines up forum states that the disabled hunter took him this weekend, scored, video'd and everything!!!! We'll see if it's true. That post came across this morning at 0649.

}}-SLIVER-->

Damn aliens let him go after they took some DNA for next year,
they have figured out how to get us humans all riled up and want to play this trick on us again.

The tines up boys are claiming he was killed last Friday.

I'm sure glad FLEH knew where his litle bull calf was stashed, he's got him penned up in town and has been bottle feeding him Muscle Milk for the past two months!!

I work for an outfitter he called me today said he had been killed on Saturday score unoffical 474

Why are you giving Doyle a hard time he's not even the guide. And who said the hunter was using a crossbow. Just because he is disabled doesn't mean he has to shoot a crossbow. If the disabled hunter did kill the spider bull good for him!!

+1 on what camo said!!!It seems like a lot of ppl dislike doyle why? Cause he has the coolest job on earth. Sounds like jealousy to me. But what do I know i'm just your average guy who loves to hunt. Trophy deer and elk are nice but being in the mountains and getting away in the fall is what its all about. For me anyways just my 2 cents.

Very good comment Camo. I talked with a Kid from monroe yesterday and he said the bull has disappeared and they are having trouble locating him. Guess he was a bit smarter than we gave him credit for?? I hope they get him on that disabled tag. What a giant bull!

I brought up the cross bow issue and the fact that it would be shot by a disabled hunter. I just placed my bet that is how it would go down. I just figured it would have been killed by one of mossbacks clients. Why? Because he is the best at getting it done! I don't have any ill towards anyone that has a guided hunt or kills any one particular bull or buck. I just simply made a bet and had some good internet fun.

Archery is a year round commitment!!

Lantz you and your crowd seriously think that a having a guide makes this a shoot and not a hunt dont you?? sadly mistaken its rediculous how ignorant and blissfully unaware some individuals are. when it comes to guides their hunters and the quarry they pursue especially when it comes to elk

Wildlife population control specialist

Personally, I hope that the Spider Bull was taken by a handicaped kid. I really don't give a rat's @$$ if it was with a bow, crossbow, or rifle. I really don't care if it was a guided hunt or not.

I think that it is great for any kid, especially a kid with a handicap, to be able to go out hunting. To make it even better for a kid to be able to harvest an animal of anyone's life time.

If the rumors are true, which I hope that they are, CONGRATULATIONS TO THE LUCKY HUNTER AND THANKS TO THE UNSELFISH OUTFITTER/GUIDE.

Most likely Doyle has all of his 100+ young loser "wannabe like big guides" spotter kids camped by the bull 24/7.

Redman,

Thats not very nice, i personally know some of his "loser" young guides and some of them are among the best hunters i know. Best way to become a good guide is to learn from some of the best. Cant say i totaly agree with all his methods but it is pretty hard to argue with his ability to produce quality animails for his customers which is what he is paid to do.

Redman, Douche bag applications are no longer being accepted at this time. However reading through your posted resume you appear to be highly qualified. We will keep you on file and notify you to any upcoming postions.

Now that is funny Nunya!

If it was a point and shoot type thing, that bull would be on the ground already!

Good luck monroe hunters, just play nice while on the mountain! Can't wait to see pic's!

+1 hahahahahahahahaha

Redman,
Better watch who you're calling out here.
You are hitting close to home with a lot of these guys and it is not appreciated.
I know a lot of these guys and they spend a lot of time scouting and hunting and I admire their dedication. They work hard and deserve some recognition for finding animals that others seem to miss.

I FEEL PROUD TO CALL ONE OF THESE 100+ YOUNG LOSERS MY SON!

You hear all the rumors, but after hearing all the rumors for years and years, I still haven't seen anyone step up with proof.
a*r

Hey Antlerrick, I'm surprised you let him have it so easy! What a rude thing to say about people. I think I know who the real loser is! Man, I can't believe some people.

Redman, how many of Doyle's losers do you even know? The ones I know have alot more respect for people than you do. GROW UP!

I try to not let this get under my skin, but 100+ losers?
I've not ever even mentioned that my son was one of these no good rotten, criminal type guides before, and try not to get involved, but there comes a time when you've had enough, and I guess this was the time for me!
Like you said, the guides I know are stand up guys and many are good friends...and I know quite a few of them.
I just can't stand to see guys trash others and their character and morals and they don't even know them..
But I didn't get too mean!

It's nice to finally see some people stand up for these guys, people who know them. I've never seen someone get beat up so much by other people, and who is someone who those beating him up likely have never met, as Doyle Moss and his guides.

I've never seen so much animosity (read -jealousy) displayed toward a group of people as has been shown toward this group and the tines-up guys. I don't know any of them, but can't imagine they'd still be in business if they were the outlaw bunch of losers that some of you on here and other sites make them out to be. Perhaps I'll meet some of them in about 4 weeks and get to judge for myself, perhaps not; but one thing is for sure....I'd rather meet some of them out in the woods than some of the people who I share comments and opinions with on here. Maybe Moss and his guys really are a bunch of no good thugs, but I don't know that. What I do know is that none of them have ever come on here and criticized some of you who hate them so much, and that colors my opinion of both groups.

Any of them would be welcomed at my camp for a cool drink unless and until they proved unworthy.

Like awholelottabull said in the campfire WHY post, most guys will badmouth the guides and outfitters, but go the the expos or the hunting shows and they are there acting like they are best friends with them....
I appreciate your post and will plan on taking a ride up on the mountain when you are here and getting to meet you!
Rick

I live by Doyle. I know A LOT of guys that guide for Team Mossback. In fact (and I'm not sure I should type this but here goes) my daughter (aka AWLBChic) works for Doyle at his store in Spanish Fork. He has been nothing but respectful of her. According to her, Doyle and Karen have been great to work for. I don't know all the guys that guide for Team Mossback but the ones I know are standup guys. I have said this several times in the last month or so....you wouldn't catch me dead taking a client in on this bull with all of the circus going on around him. For me personally, that would take the fun out of killing him, and I have the utmost respect for that animal. At the same time, how fun would that be to have the time and ambition to hang with an animal like that both night and day. I envy those guys!

It's always an adventure!!!

LAST EDITED ON Aug-08-08 AT 06:19AM (MST)[p]there is no amount of money or fame that could get me even close to where that circus is going on. part of the reason i hunt is to get completely away from the madness. i love to hunt deer and elk but my hunting experience is way more important than killing a monster bull. that poor bull.

Pulled this off another sight probably shouldn't have. The guy that drew it is amazing and must have been there because it looks so real.

I might have to go down their and meet the guy that named the spider bull.

I was reading some of the comments over on one of the other hunting websites, one that deal exclusively with archery hunting, and just like here, there is a thread about the spider bull controversy. Some guy came on this morning who says he's one of those 'fly in' hunters that has hunted with Mr. Moss. He had some very eye opening things to say that I think might surprise a lot of people. I wasn't particularly surprised to read what he had to say, but then I don't necessarily have the same view of this topic that some others do.

In a nutshell, what the man says validates much of what antlerrick and awholelottabull have to say, only he goes into much greater depth. I doubt his comments would change many minds, but do think they're very worthwhile reading.
