Has anyone had any success with calling in Muleys in durring the rut?? And if so how do you do it? I've called in whitetails before and would imagine that something like that should work with muleys.

Thanks

Andy

Yeah that is very original MrBaitnFish......... Get a life!!

On a serious note, try a fawn in distress call. It will bring in the doe's which in turn might bring in a buck following right behind.

Just as the previous post mentioned. I have got muley does to come to a fawn distress call. One time a nice 4pt followed a doe right up to within 30 yards from me. I had already filled my tag and was just out having fun.

I've played around and have called in plenty of does and sometimes they've had a forky or two come in with them. But I've never tried to call during the rut. Get the Eastmans video "Talk to the deer" and you will see some guy with Gordan Eastman call a doe in and a big buck was following her. Pretty cool! Another time they got three bucks come in closer. It works but not all of the time. fatrooster.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-28-05 AT 10:12AM (MST)[p]I was out trying to fill a doe tag with my bow. I kept getting close but all those eyes kept busting me. Anyhow, as a herd of say 10 busted out of my vicinity I blew the fawn distress call over and over and that herd of 10 plus about 15 more came hauling a** towards me but they stopped 50 yards from me. So I know deer calls work. BTW never did get in close enough for a shot but I had a good time.

I called 2 does to within 15 yards once testing out my kmeer deer. They were doing a lot of stompin and snortin but the wind was in my favor and I was behind some sagebrush and I don't think they knew what I was. Had there been a buck I never would have got off a shot without the whole bunch busting out of there. Never had a tag during the rut but I expect the bucks would follow the does.

Maybe you could call them in like elk with one person calling and the other shooting.
