bulls screaming

i was up on the hill a few nights a go and heard a few bulls talkin has anybody else heard this im sure its smaller bulls but was just wondering.

I AM THE ULTIMATESHEDFREAK!!!!

I hear it all summer on my uncles property. just as the sun goes down the hills light up with cows and bulls talkin away. the first time i heard it in july i was a little shocked. i didnt realize they are very vocal all year long. not just the rut

I always heard cows talking but I never knew that the bulls did the same. I wonder why!!! I don't think they have their cows yet. Or do they?

Yeah, I was out with a herd the other day and all the elk were talking a lot cows and calfs, and a few young bulls too. It was more like the bulls were trying out their voices...more like weak whistles.

Early on bulls will talk some for sure & yes they do call year around, but it's mainly cows bugling in June, July & Aug. much more so than the bulls. Get a real good look next time you hear them especially the spike/immature whines & you'll see it's cows doing the bugling for the most part! It's rare to hear them chuckle though, hardly never!

I drew a Manti Central Mtns elk tag. I was scouting 3wks ago and that night the bulls were bugling below me. I think that they talk a litle a year. If any one knows the manti area or has any tips for me let me know.
