Manti-Mohrland/Stump Flat

I drew a cow elk tag for Mohrland-Stump Flat. Anybody hunt in this area? Gentry Mountain is in the unit. I am going down to scout it out in a few weeks. The cow tag is for middle of September. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Taking along a guy who has never shot an elk before. I would at least like him to get into a few.

Put in for the late hunt next time, then you wouldn't even have to get out of your truck if you didn't want too.

There is plenty of country to hunt. You have to be careful on the gentry and watch out for private property. Several good canyons from the huntington canyon side that always hold elk. Stay high that early. Listen for bugling bulls, there will be cows close.
LE big bull hunt will be going on at that time, if I am not mistaken. Be careful not to ruin someones OLT.
