I drew a Fishlake/Thousand Lake archery tag this year! I have been scouting, setting up trail cameras, tree stands, ground blinds, etc., for five weeks now. I have set my standard at the 360 inch mark and have sen a lot of bulls that will qaulify. Until yesterday, I was excited to pass up some bulls if I had to at the first of my hunt, and wait for the rut to start to chase them in the rut and hopefully kill a big bull. I talked to a guy yesterday that said he had the tag last year and said it was easier to hunt the bulls when they were in their bachelor herds, than when they were split up and rutting? He said that, because of the deer, spike, and cow hunters it turned it into a joke. I was going to hunt the weekends until the last week, and then if I hadn't killed anything, I would take the last week off! That was my plan until yesterday! What do you think? Stick with my original plan or not? Should I take advantage of the first good bull I see or bank on the Rut?
