I know the season is long over but I was just wondering if there was any D8 deer hunters out there and how they did. I ate tag soup this year. Seen some bucks but couldn't get close enough for the shot. There's always next year. Already looking forward to it. Can't wait and it's only Feb. Just have to bass fish until then.

Some guys have all the luck. I've got a buddy here in town that got a forky the third week of rifle season, got a second tag the Friday of closing weekend and shot a nice 3x2 not 100yds. from where he shot the forky. He was due though. He'd been deerless for about 5 yrs.

My son took a really nice buck up around Three Rivers. Really wide 3 point. Trouble was one antler was broken off. Only about a 5 inch stub. I passed on three of the smallest forkies I've ever seen on the last day. They were standing together about 50 yards away. They were so small they looked pathetic. I guess I'm gettin' old. PC

Congrats on your son's buck. That's good you passed 'em up(the forkies). Alot of guys would've shot anyways. That's one of the problems in this zone is people shootin the first legal buck they see regardless of size. Let 'em grow up. But I guess it's that mentality of if I don't shoot it somebody else will. I saw a guy in a Jeep this year with a fork/spike slung over his spare tire on the back that was about the size of my german shepard. He was just as proud as could be. I just shook my head after he left. He was as proud as could be though. To each his own, but I would've passed on BAMBI.
