Well for starters that area of Colorado does not seem to produce giant bulls, why I don't know. If they make it to six point they are lucky, they will not live past that year with maybe the rare exception here and there. Seems like any one lucky enough to survive the opening day blood bath on the mine land makes it down to the double RL eventually and nothing decent there lives very long. Guys pay big dollars to hunt that place because of all the elk they have, they kill bulls but to my knowledge nothing giant has ever come out of there.
A lot of people that hunt that area for elk hunt more towards Durango, basically the other side of the pass, more elk that side and more bulls.
