anyone ever bow hunt taylor park in the gunnison country? I can't seem to find a good place to hunt a bull.

According to CDOW website, there's quite a few elk harvested there. Around 10% success with bow last year.

Of course, the ratio of 4 wheelers to elk is probably 10:1, as Taylor Park is one of the single biggest/ most popular 4 wheeler riding areas in America.

Used to hunt around the Taylor Park area several years ago. There are tons of elk in the area. Key is to get as far off the road as possible. Buy some topo maps and figure out how you can get as far back as possible. I suggest hunting above timberline if you're going early. You don't need to backpack with a 50 lb pack. Take a sleeping bag and a tarp and about 3 days of food and head up. I used to do 4 -5 day hunts with about 15-20 lbs.

There are some good bulls in the area that people aren't willing to get to! Remember this, the elk don't like all those 4-wheelers either. Good luck!
