I have pictures of a bull killed on the Pahvant on Saturday. It is supposed to be the "Beamer" bull that was on the mossback video Legends of the Fall. Its sheds last year had like 65" main beams. any way this year they are only 62". I have two pictures but I don't wanna get in trouble by posting them. If I blur there faces out is it ok to post them then???? What do you guys think?
Has anyone else seen the bull??

If the hunter has not gave you permission then I would not post them. As most guys with big animals do not want there pics out as they try for magazines.
I have some pics of some big elk and deer but will not post them because a friend sent them to me.

I say if the Hunter didn't want them on the internet, why did he send em out in emails? Or let other people take pics of his Bull? Just post em up already!!!!

A pic of the "BEAMER" bull

The kid in the the first pic is my friend, he is not the one that killed the bull.

Great bull Congrats to the lucky hunter..
Looks like that bull has been rubbed for a while and had really been working those antlers to get that dark color!
Beautiful!

>Great Bull. What did he score?
>
I'm not sure what he scored. all I know is that his beams were like 62"

I have to agree with dleonard. All I have ever known this bull by was the Long Beam bull. The Beamer bull is just a name someone else gave it only after he bought the sheds off the original finder. I always thought that the first person to find it got to name it.

Nice bull, gonna be hard to hang 'em in that double-wide,lol.Congrat's to the hunter on a true trophy bull!

The hunter call it. Why would some shed seeker get to call him? No skill in shed picking other then finding them before someone else does.

Great bull guys and conrats! But......I'm not sure you have the "Beamer Bull" there. For some reason I want to say that he's a lot longer on his points that this bull. Don't get me wrong, he's a good bull but I really don't think that's the "Beamer Bull".

And NO I don't think the guy that picks up his sheds gets to name him. Most definately the guy that puts him down does!

It's always an adventure!!!

This is the "LONG BEAM BULL". I was told that this bull had been gut shot with a muzzle loader by one of "Moose Knuckles" clients last year and never found. This bull had a large cyst almost the size of a basketball from the injury, and I'm sure the antler formation was affected somewhat. I was also told that this bull looked like it weighed 1000 lbs. Big, fat, and healthy.

I would like to offer my congratulations to the hunter....way to go - that was a great shot, and you sincerely deserve that great bull.

I'M THE LUCKY OWNER/HUNTER THAT KILLED THE "BEAMER" BULL. MY FAMILY & I CALL HIM THE LONG BEAM BULL. WE HAVE A HISTORY WITH THIS BULL, MY LITTLE BROTHER FOUND THE SHEDS TO HIM 2 YEARS AGO. THERE'S NO DOUBT THIS IS THE SAME BULL. HE WAS SUPPOSEDLY SHOT & WOUNDED LAST YEAR & NOBODY'S SEEN HIM SINCE, MYSELF INCLUDED UNTIL OPENING DAY. I FEEL PRETTY DARN LUCKY TO HAVE HARVESTED HIM & YES HE'S GONNA LOOK DAMN GOOD IN MY DOUBLE-WIDE THANKS.

Thanks for clearing this up Deviltine. Congrats to you and I have to say that the bull will look good mounted, no matter where it gets hung.

Jeff

nice job Deviltine, heck of a kill. I would like to also second that it is in fact the long beam bull. almost all curves and uniquenesses are acounted for. sad he lost his beam leangth, don't get me wrong they are still great. but what can You expect from a bull dealing with a muzzle loader wound. He is still a toad. congrats again on a great archery bull.

Hey nice work Deviltine! That is an incredible bull- especially when you got him with a bow! Great job!

that is an awsome Bull congrats great to see an every day hunter kill such a trophy ... anyone want to bet old moosey saw dollar sighns fly out the window when this was posted

Congrats to the hunter. What a great bull with a great story. You girls crack me up with the worry over what his name is. Hell check his birth certificate. Everybody can name the same bull what ever they want. Who cares? I think you should have named him Jim Beamer. Too late now.

A little OT here,
Do you suppose a gut shot could be what caused the cyst on that bull in the Primetime 6 video? That bull had a dang basket ball hanging off his belly.

Deviltine, congrats on a hell of a bull. Great story and history you and your family have with the old boy. Pretty sweet...

THANKS FOR ALL THE KIND COMMENTS. MY GOOD FRIENDS AND FAMILY & I HAD A GREAT TIME IN THE MOUNTAINS CHASING THESE MAGNIFICENT ANIMALS AND I COULDN'T HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER ENDING. ONCE WE PUT THE BULL TO BED IT WAS ABOUT A 1 1/2 HOUR STALK TO GET CLOSE TO HIM & THEN I SAT & STUDIED HIM FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES FROM 25 YARDS AWAY, THATS HOW THICK IT WAS IN THE OAK WHERE HE WAS BEDDED. FINALLY AFTER DECIDING I WOULD BE A FOOL FOR NOT SHOOTING, I TOOK THE SHOT AND THE HELLRAZORS WORKED THEIR MAGIC. THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED PACK HIM OUT, I COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU ALL.

You got any pics of the sheds? I've been looking around on here and can't find them. I know they were posted before, but, I'd love to see em again! Great bull btw, congrats on a great trophy!

I'LL SEE WHAT I CAN DO ABOUT POSTING SOME PICS OF THE SHEDS NEXT TO THE BULL. ACTUALLY WHAT WE HAVE ARE REPLICAS OF THE SHEDS AS MY BRO MIKE SOLD THE HORNS TO AN OUTFITTER WHO WAS PRETTY INTERESTED IN THE BULL. AS FAR AS I KNOW, HIS SHEDS WEREN'T PICKED UP LAST YEAR. I THINK BEING WOUNDED HE MUST HAVE WINTERED IN A DIFFERENT SPOT THAN HE DID 2 YEARS AGO WHEN WE PICKED UP THE SHEDS. EVERYTHING IS BASICALLY THE SAME EXCEPT FOR THE BACK END SHORTENED UP A LITTLE BIT. BY THE WAY, HIS BEAMS MEASURE 60" ON ONE SIDE & 58.5 ON THE OTHER. WHILE THEY ARE 8" SHORTER THAN TWO YEARS AGO, I THINK THEY'RE STILL PROBABLY LONGER THAN AVERAGE. I HAVEN'T SCORED HIM & I'M NOT SURE IF I'M GONNA, HE'S JUST UNIQE & I MIGHT JUST LEAVE IT AT THAT.

Congrates DEVILTINE,
You have harvested a dandy bull and should be proud.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-22-08 AT 01:05AM (MST)[p] long beam, beamer which ever was shot in the hind quarters last year with a rifle. He may have lived (doubt it) but would have definate scaring. I also belive the shot broke bone. It should not be hard to tell if that is him. No offense on your great bull but i don't think it is the long beam bull you talk of.

As for the Mossback haters I doubt you have ever met Doyle or any of the guides who work with him. What on earth did they ever do to you to deserve your disdain. Save the fact they are good at what they do.

Again, congrats on your great bull. As long as your more than happy with him who cares about a score! I hope he is the long beam/beamer bull.

Congrats Deviltine, thats one heck of a bull!! Heard you made a great shot on him, and all he did was lay his head down. What kind of sticks did you flip to kill this bull?

Sweet bull..i got some pretty neat film of him earlier this year! What was that big tumor on his belly? Did somebody hit him last fall!

LAST EDITED ON Aug-24-08 AT 06:27PM (MST)[p]"Not beamer though take it from some one who was 325 yards when it was smoked in the @$$."

So a bull thats been shot in the hind quarters cant survive????

NOT TO START AN ARGUEMENT HERE BUT I'D PUT MONEY ON IT THAT IT'S HIM. I'VE ALSO HAD TWO FRIENDS WHO HAPPEN TO WORK FOR THE OUTFITTER THAT BOUGHT HIS SHEDS COME AND VERIFY THAT IT'S HIM, THEY BOTH WATCHED HIM FOR SEVERAL SEASONS & SAY THERE'S NO DOUBT. THIS BULL HAD A LARGE CYST ON HIS BELLY WHERE HE HAD BEEN SHOT LAST YEAR & ALSO HAD A BULLET THROUGH HIS HOOF. DOESN'T MATTER ANYWAY, HE'S MINE & I HAD FUN GETTING HIM. BY THE WAY SMOKEPOLE, DID YOU SAY YOU WERE THERE WHEN HE WAS SHOT LAST YEAR? JUST CURIOUS AS YOU SEEM TO KNOW SO MUCH ABOUT HIM.
