Colfax NM area

Has anyone hunted the area around Colfax NM for muledeer? I'm thinking about a private land hunt in this area and was wondering how the hunting was.I don't know the unit # off hand.

54, 55A and 55B

mostly are on private...I don't know if it is a good place...but i know there are some hogs when i cow elk hunt in unit 53...next to VV, Urraca and i have see nice bucks in colin Neblett...

The biggest bucks in NM come from that part of the state. But like Vinny said Lots and Lots of private land. The Philmont Scout Ranch and Vermejo park are loaded with giants.

Colfax County is in the NE part of the state. you can hunt grass land in the eastern part of the county or high alpine in the western part. Lots of private land. Area more known for elk and antelope than deer.
