Are the elk starting to rut yet or is it still early? Anyone had any luck calling them? I'm going to scout for my uncle's wasatch tag this weekend just wondering what people have found. thanks in advance.

Strong cold front expected monday with snow above 8,000. If this actually happens, look out.

I cow called a herd of 11 to stop them so that I could see what all was there and a spike went off. So they are warming up...

Oh I already know where they hide on those 2 units, The books too. I live in the basin I'm just trying to help my uncle get a good bull he turned in a poacher and got a trophy tag. He has never called, seen many elk so I'm being a good nephew and going to put myself out to go walk around the mountain and look for elk with him. He is asking alot huh.

I heard over 30 bugles this morning in norther utah. Two 5-point and a decent 6. The 6 was guarding his 20 ish cows. It sure was nice to be in the middle of all that again. But, no shot. This is the earliest I have heard serious buging. The 6 was grunting nearly every bugle.
