ID 66A archery vs WY Region G scheduling

My bro and I have 66A archery elk tags. My son has a WY Region G deer tag (youth).

I can sched one of these hunts for Monday the 15th thru Thurs the 18th and the other one for Monday the 22nd thru Thurs the 25th. I know where I'm going for the G tag. I am pretty clueless of where I'm going for the 66A tag, but I'll see what I can do.

The question/dilemma is which hunt to do during which week. My personal priority is the elk hunt. From some of the posts it sounds like the bulls have already started to make a little noise. We'd like to catch the elk w/ their guards down as best we can. So, would you do the elk hunt during the week of the 15th, or the week of the 22nd. (Original plans were deer first week, then elk)

Hunt elk in McCoy creek outside of Alpine. You can hunt elk and if you tag out, you can be at the check station at the mouth of greys river in a half hour. Or if you are hunting the star valley side of region G it's right across the highway. Just a thought.

Elk first, better rut dates, and the biggest factor for me is that first week of the G hunt is a circus. 2nd weekend in the high WY country is a lot less crowded.
