Have you ever visited the soapbox on Charlie's website? If you haven't you are missing one of my heroes and a true american. If he is a redneck I'm proud to be one of his brothers. Between his band and Lynard Skinard I have shared some great times in concert with my buddies. I love country and miss the great bands of the past. The chit the kids listen to nowadays is a little hard on my ears and my sense of good music. I teach in a small rural town in Wisconsin and I just supervised a Jr High dance. What an eye opener sock hop it is not most music couldn't be played at our school and the kids thought we were poor in eliminating the songs with swear words or CD's with inappropriate words. The Parents thought nothing was wrong with the music, and words were spoken between us. Since I was the supervisor and its my butt on the line I had final say. I'm not winning any popularity contests. What do you think?

I think you are doing the right thing.. things are out of control with the music these kids listen to.

Not only is the music out of hand but so is television. The Charlie Daniels Band is one of my favorites. fatrooster.

DS...I tip my hat to ya for stickin to your guns. I think you did the right thing. Charlie Daniels' "Full Moon" was the first album I ever bought...that seems like a long time ago....

Rap, hip hop, or what ever you want to call it, is not music. That is all kids listen to these days. "The devil went down to georgia" now that a song.

After months of pestering the local country radio station they started to play alot more "classic" country mixed in with the new Nashville clones. They had an overwhelming response of approval from the listeners, now they are playing more and more. Charlie, Hank, Waylon, Willie, Johnny, Possum, Merle. Where have all the good times gone?
As Charlie wrote...
Mr. DJ wont you please play me a song. Play it for an old boy whos a long, long way from home.

if you didn't say something then who would....Hmmm you guessed it no one...being right ain't always being popular..
