I'm looking for a print of Leon Parson's "2 1/2 seconds" painting. Does anyone have one they'd like to part with??? Steve

LAST EDITED ON Apr-02-05 AT 02:54PM (MST)[p]I have 2 prints in the box, never framed. I don't know what the value is. One is going on my wall soon and I may be willing to part with the other for the right price, but as I mentioned, I don't now what it is worth. I may be interested in a trade for another in the series.

Sorry mtmiller, I can't help you with a different one in the series. What would you sell the one for? You can email me at [email protected]. In case you don't know, Leon has announced he will be starting the sixth one in the series later this year. Thanks, Steve

Hi mtmiller: I have a framed canvas print of "Buck fever on No-Tellem Ridge", and also a signed paper print never mounted. I may be willing to trade straight across for your extra print of "Two Seconds on No Tellum Ridge", for my unframed print. Hopefully your live some where where we could make the trade without mailing. I live in Idaho Falls. I really like Leon Parson's work. I have several other Parsons prints that I have framed and displayed in my Living room. e-mail: [email protected].

Hey MT- If you do deal with Greybeard, make sure you get a print of "Hideout Canyon" in the deal. You won't be disappointed. It may go on the wall as fast as 2 1/2 Seconds.

Thanks 2_Point, I appreciate the compliment. I've been trying to get some more painting done lately without much success. I sure like Leon's stuff...Steve

Graybeard,

Are you going to paint another mule deer or something else? It would be nice to see you doing something productive again ;)

Smokey, I'm working on getting a mule deer painting or two done. Just can't seem to find the time....Steve

I do some painting in my spare time too. Here is a watercolor called "Carbon Creek Royal".

LAST EDITED ON Apr-04-05 AT 11:07AM (MST)[p]Waygoner,

That is a great painting. I don't know a lot about painting but isn't watercolor pretty difficult to master? You sure did a fine job. I struggle with stick figures.

Graybeard,

It's not too late for you to break-a-leg skiing. That should allow for a bit more R&R? Perhaps this summer we can hook up. You are welcome to come over to Idaho and see what I am up too, if your not too busy.

I too am buried. As a matter of fact I believe I may need to start a controlled burn in my office so I can get some work done.

Take her easy (or any way you can)!

Thanks for the compliments. I've been drawing/painting since I was old enough to hold a crayon. Never had any training beyond high school art classes. For some reason I took to watercolors and it's what I prefer now.

Wagoner, Looks great, keep up the good work.

SMOKEY, what the HE!! are you doing in ID? Let's hook up this summer bud...Steve

Took an art class from Leon's brother Dale Parson at Dixie College. Dale paints People and has done a ton of stuff for the LDS church. When I was in his art class, he told the story of how his brother (Leon) won a painting contest in Utah where he won like 40,000. His painting was of two snow geese in flight. The painting was later used as a stamp. Dale said Leon's goal was to create a painting that would generate more money than what art school cost him. He achieved his goal with the snow geese painting. Dale and Leon's father was also a painter. The whole family is full of talent. It was one of the best classes I took in College.

Not positive, but I think the Utah stamp was of two swans in flight. Maybe he has a snow goose stamp as well. The swan print is often on ebay.

Golly Greybead: I'd certainly would wish that you would post a picture of "Hideout Canyon". You've got everyone interested. Freedyf

If Steve posts a picture of his painting then he will have to spend too much time packaging all the ones he sells. Seriously, if a guy likes the red deserts and dandy deer, they can't beat "Hideout Canyon".

Steve- I have a signed 2 1/2 seconds print, but it sits behind my computer desk, still in the envelope. "Hideout Canyon" hangs on the wall, for everyone to see. Beautiful!

WOW! Unbelievable! Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I'd love one too...Probably beyond my budget though.

Who paints "Hideout Canyon?" I'm pretty sure it isn't Leon Parson. I have dozens of Leon Parson prints and am always interested in trading, if anybody is still looking. I have a 2 1/2 seconds and would trade for any of the no tellum series.

Speaking of Leon, have you all seen his new print coming out in the next few weeks? It is in the minature series, second to Black Hole Bull. Here it is:

THE VALUE LEONS PRINTS IN A 2 YEAR OLD ART BOOK
BUCK FEVER ON NO TELLUM $400
21/2 SECOND ON NO TELLUM $950
CREST OF NO TELLUM $795

I HAVE BUCK FEVER AND 21/2 SECOND THAT ARE THE SAME NUMBERS THAT ARE EXTRA AND WOULD LIKE TO SELL.

I called Parson's Gallery yesterday and was quoted these secondary market prices.

"Buck Fever" $630-$765
"2 1/2 Seconds" $770-$935

That was a smart purchase then if the value has gone up that much. I've seen them go on ebay for around $400-$450. I guess I'll just watch for one there. I'll be buying a couple of the next one just for collection purposes. Of course one will go on the wall....Steve
