The general deer and elk results are online for Montana.

No luck for me this year-with 2 points!!!

Hopefully they'll offer some extra tags again like last year. I was looking forward to a good whitetail hunt in '05

No deer/elk combo for me this year. I guess I will try for a antepoe tag.

Good luck to everyone else. If there are leftover deer tags how do you get your name on the list to be called.

I'm pretty sure there's a box to check on the application if you want info on any leftover/extra tags.

Last year they issued about 1000 extra deer tags and offered them first come first served to unsuccessful deer only applicants.

It's a great state to hunt if you have access to private ground or if you're not after a monster. They've got a ton of deer.

Well boys and girls the good lord blessed me again. I got drawn again and my Dad also got drawn. So looks like i get to hunt again. Good luck to the rest of you guys.

I had a point for a deer combo tag, no luck......
Now I just have 2 points.

Maybe gas will be cheaper next year.

My buddy and i applied as a party. First time applicants with no points and guess what? Yep we got our general deer tags!!
Now i need help. My buddies son lives in Bozeman (he's only been there 2 yrs. going to school.) Last year he hunted only a couple times but managed to get a decent mulie. We would like to focus on mulies so any help would be muchly appreciated.

Well our "group of 5" did not get drawn this year. So will now have to wait till June for the results for the other three states.

My hunting buddy & I got drawn for deer only. It'll be his first trip to MT with a buck tag. Hope to help him tag a nice mulie. Summer isn't even here & I am already hoping it's fall. Good luck . MV

I drew the Combo with 0 points for 3rd year in a row, didn't think it would happen again. My 18 year old son drew the deer combo with 1 point, that's what I really wanted to happen. A friend of mine in the Broadus area told me last week that they have gotten more rain/snow this year than last, hopefully will get a good green up to add to the antler growth. Sorry to the guys who didn't draw, I've been there before and it sucks.

I'm a Marine from Montana stationed in California and my wife a native Californian. I took her to Montana for her first deer hunt and got her a doe tag. She dropped her deer at 290 yards and was completely hooked. So I put her in for the Deer Combo this year. First time and she was successful. Can't wait to get her into the bucks.

We didnt get drawn this year...but we didnt get drawn last year either and still got buck tags from the left overs....shows to go ya that it aint over yet!

Nemont - did't draw this year but hey, don't worry, our out-of-state cash is on its way! May not be huntin' horns, but we'll do our part to thin a few does, drink some beer and eat that home-grown beef. By the way, will trade cash for a buck tag!

No can do on the buck tag. Would be willing to show you some good duck and goose hunting. Enjoy the beer and beef and good times. Bring a shotgun as I am seeing alot of birds already.

sorry to hear you didn't draw. maybe that means this coming fall/winter will bring lots of snow unlike the past 5 years and the elk hunting will be easy ;-)
