here is the Bull that my Pops took on opening afternoon of the Rifle hunt. He tight taped at 355. What a great hunt. A big thanks to all the friends and family that helped with everything. Congratulations to my Dad. I am sure these memories will never be forgotten..

You've got me all excited now, but I can't see the photos. Congrats to your Dad, 355 is a VERY respectable bull.

Open up a photobucket.com account and post the link from there. The pics will who up if you post up the 2nd link given beneath the pics. Or, email them to [email protected] and I'll post them for you. I want to see the bull! My brother and my cousin are both elk hunting out there right now. It's been an exciting hunt so far. Elk screaming everywhere. They're holding out for something bigger than what they've seen so far though.

OK. This is a roadless area bull. My dad finally drew the tag with 14 points. We hunted very hard opening morning. put 7 miles on the old boots chasing sounds. The bulls were going nuts and there had to have been at least 10 different bulls abound us that morning. The problem was, every bull that sounded mature or had cows would not come out of the thick timber. As soon as they felt threatened they would take their cows and leave. That afternoon we took the horses and were headed back to the same area to take a look. We were only 3/4 of a mile from our camp when we spotted a couple of cows grazing in the sage. I put the glasses up and spotted the bull bedded down in the pines just outside the sage patch. Then one of the horses decided that it was time to take a pee. Of course the sound put the elk right on our position. THe bull got a little nervous and came out to round up his cows and push them into the trees. We had about 15 seconds to decide if he was a shooter. He stepped out and we sould tell he was big. My Dad said he wanted a bull with good mass and big whale tails. Needless to say, he didn't have a hard time making a decision when this bull stepped out. He made a very nice 265 yard shot and the pictures tell the rest. What a great hunt. Just sucks that it is over..

It looks like you had a good hunt. Tell your dad congratulations on the great bull.

I saw horns sticking out of their truck and became a stalker all the way to a gas station where I spoke to your dad for a few minutes...what a good man, and an ear to ear grin still on his face! BEAUTIFUL BULL! congrats on the bull and what sounded like tremendous memories!
