LAST EDITED ON Sep-19-08 AT 04:25PM (MST)[p]I was in Heber the other day helping some buddies in 3a/3c. I noticed a guy getting some antlers scored at the meat locker that looked big. I turned around to go look at them. It turns out that the bull is massive and scored 434 7/8. It's a huge 8x7.

Good report but WORTHLESS without pics! lol Just kiddin'. I really would like to see pics. Wonder where it'll show up?

Sorry about the pics. I have about 50 pics of the rack, but promised I would not post them. If I get permission I will post them. The bull did not come out of 3a/3c. It can from another unit to the east of there. Sorry, but I promised the hunter I would let him come out with pics and the story. It is a fantastic bull.

Here's your pics. Very nice bull. Could be the new world record if they score it typical as an inline 7x7

The world record typical is 442 5/8. That sounds a tiny bit bigger than 434 7/8. Plus, isn't there a 60 drying period before official measuring can occur? I'm sure it will shrink a little. Still a great bull, and I LOVE the color of those antlers. That's a real pretty bull, and I am very envious.

Very nice! Kind of hard to tell just how big he is in that pic....but we know he's huge. So this might sound dumb but I'm hearing rumors of a 500 bull being killed in AZ somewhere? I'm not one to start rumors but that was the word on some other forums. I'm just bored at work.

Actually, the world record for Archery was Shawn Patterson's bull that officially scored 412 1/8. It grossed somewhere in the 430's but after deductions dropped down. Yes, there is a 60 day drying period, which is why I said potentially the new world record. This was the first time this guy had ever hunted archery and when approached about the bull, he thought that it would score in the 350's. Crazy how the guys that don't know anything about scoring always end up with the big ones.

There was a 455 bull that was just killed on the White Mtn Apache Reservation. It was killed with a rifle, and I heard that it is unbelieveable. Tremendous fronts and huge mass through the whole rack. If anyone gets a hold of some pics, please post them.

I stand corrected. I didn't realize we were talking about an archery bull. Congrats to the lucky hunter - now I'm really jealous.

That thing is huge. I've never seen antlers that dark. They almost don't look real. Congrats to the hunter on one hell of an archery bull.

The hunter did not request that we not post the pic's. I told him I would not post them.

Did you see the mushroomed 6ths. He would have scored like 16 points better without them.

The hunter did not request the pic's not be posted. I told him I would not post them. I don't think he cares. We are trying to help him with getting the bull out there and getting scored.

I'm thinking that they are going to score that first one non typical because those sixths are coming off the the fifth point rather than the main beam. I'm no expert but will be interesting to see.

I'd agree Bozeman, the left side has the 6th coming off the fifth and not completely off the main beam. It's going to loose a lot from that as a typical. Oh to have that one tine 1" further back like the right side.

None-the-less that is one dandy of a bull. Congrats to the hunter.

Cheers,
Pete

First off you need to know that he puts alot off time into hunting and thought the bull was atleast 390. Secondly stop whining because someone was succesful on there elk hunt. I know him and he puts his time into hunting. He has hunted archery for many years and has killed a 350 bull in the past and knows the differance. When you took the picture you did tell him that you wouldn't post pictures, this is probably why cause of crap like this. You need to check your archery bull record because your not even close, go look at nick franklins bull or clay heuetts bull both of which netted over shawns 412.
