Book Cliff 4-Wheelers

I hunted Elk in another Utah unit a few years back and 4-Wheelers could go pretty much anywhere. They stayed on the trails and roads but everybody had one.

I have a Book Cliffs deer tag this year and don't know anything about it but was wondering if I could expect the same thing down there. I want to hunt on foot and get away from them if possible but wanted to see what others had ran into down there.

Any help appreciated,

IT DEPENDS ON WHICH PART OF THE BOOKCLIFFS YOU WILL BE HUNTING???

NORTH OF THE DIVIDE IS ATV'ERS PARADISE,PLENTY OF ROADS & TRAILS,MORE ATV TRAILS BY THE YEAR!!!

I'VE SEEN CAMPS WITH ONE TAG HOLDER & 2-8 WHEELERS!!!

I DON'T BLAME YOU FOR WANTING TO HUNT ON FOOT,THE ROADED AREA IS 'ROADED' IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN???

SOUTH OF THE DIVIDE YOU CAN GET AWAY FROM ALOT OF THE B.S. THAT GOES ON OUT THERE!!!

THE ROADLESS AREA WILL JUST ABOUT REQUIRE SOME HORSES,THERE WAS A FEW FIRES OUT THERE A FEW YEARS AGO & BURNT ALOT OF THE COVER OFF!!!

GOOD LUCK!!!

SHOULD BE ANOTHER GOOD YEAR:WETTER YEAR = BETTER HORN GROWTH!!!

THE ONLY bobcat THINKING BEING AT THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME IS WHAT IT TAKES IN THE BOOKCLIFFS!!!

Any recommendations on the best map to cover that area?

I would like to find one map that covers the general area with roads..etc on it and then buy other topo maps or print them from software as needed.

BLM map?
Forest Services?

I drew in 04 and hunted the north side, there is a lot of roads and a lot of four wheelers the first two days, come sunday night everyone left and we only saw one vehicle on the road monday and the deer came out every where when they left. Good Luck.

So what you are saying is hold out until the weekend warriors leave on Sunday.

Where abouts did you hunt? I have a Book Cliffs tag this year. Trying to obtain information.
